Timeline

I just heard back from Cammy. She said she has not received the paperwork from the sellers yet!:rolleyes2
Me too. Still waiting on the sellers to return their documents. I get it. Their paperwork is trickier because they need to get it notarized and often scheduling that is difficult. But I am getting impatient. :-/

Actually if you look at my timeline our sellers weren't that quick either. It took them over a week to get each document back. Hopefully you will hear good news today! My first contract the seller had no email so everything had to go snail mail. That one ended in an ROFR death. :rotfl2:

After two and a half weeks...they finally sent contract backed signed. It was not within the 7 day time frame the contract states it must be within but whatever at least we got it back. It was sent to Disney yesterday the same day I found out I was ROFR'd on a different OKW contract. Maybe all my patience w/ this contract will pay off and I will get lucky with it! Let's Hope:)

Sent my signed contract and deposit back today. Now hope sellers get theirs back soon.

Add me and the DW (and DD) to that "Waiting for the Sellers To Do Their Thing" List ... it's been 10 days now ... (maybe they're on vacation ...?)

... hopefully not one of those "3-hour cruise" things ... :)

I know it's frustrating. According to the contract they are supposed to have it back within the 7 days. It is supposed to be void if not returned within time frame but somehow they get away with taking two weeks or longer. Hope they start moving it along for you:) Good Luck:dance3:

I'll throw my timeline into the mix. We bought an 80-point BLT contract (June UY). I used Sharon from Fidelity and Cammy from First American Title:

Offer accepted June 16
Signed contracts, sent to ROFR June 19
Passed ROFR July 17
Received closing docs July 27
Title company has signed closing docs July 31
Contract closed August 1
Notice of deed on OC comptroller site August 2

My first contract (BWV, bought back in March) took 11 weeks start to finish, so this contract has gone much quicker. Now I just wait to see when the new points are added to my online account. :goodvibes

Just a quick update, my new contract is in the system (but the points haven't been loaded yet, I'm guessing that will happen later today or tomorrow.) it took six days from closing to being in the system, a much better time frame than my previous contract when it took a little more than two weeks to be inputted into the system.

Yay!! Almost there. I am a brand new member and it took 6 days also from closing to points loaded so maybe Disney has stepped up their game with inputting contracts.

Congrats on being through the process!

I was planning to post my timeline, too, so I'll just add it in here. :)

June 13 - offer made
June 14 - offer accepted
June 15 - all paperwork returned, sent to ROFR
July 10 - passed ROFR
July 19 - received closing documents
July 24 - all documents received @ title company
July 26 - closed & recorded on Orange Co comptroller website
July 27 - sent to Disney
Aug 6 - received letter in the mail from DVC with our account number & booked our trip!!

So all told, 7 weeks & 5 days from offer to booking!

We were getting anxious towards the end as we were wanting to use our points for a 6 night stay in a 2 BR in September!! (Nothing like waiting until the last minute!! ) :) I started calling Member Services on August 3rd, but couldn't get anywhere because I didn't have my member number. Member Administration was closed until Monday, and I planned to call then to see if I could get it. I was super excited when I got my mail that morning and saw the letter from DVC with our member # in it!! I called right away and thankfully there was still availablity! We cancelled our cash reservation and are all booked on points now!! We are now in official countdown mode for our trip!!:yay:

I was informed today that my documents went to Disney for ROFR today. YAY! Here's hoping that I pass!

July 10th finally it goes to ROFR

Thanks JaimeA!

I am wondering how long I have to go before closing and getting the points? I wanted to book a vacation in October or December but It may end up being next year. I have 150 2012 points plus 12 2011. Like the Epcot food and Wine Fest. And the not so scary Halloween event at MK! Anyhow, I am so excited that this is going through, after almost a month in the ROFR process. It was like are we there yet??? Is the mouse buying it out from under us??

Good luck to everyone in the waiting process!

It can take up to two weeks for the title company to get estoppels from Disney and draw up the closing documents. Then buyer and seller have to return signed documents. After the title company closes the sale, it should take about a week or two for Disney to enter your contract into the system and load your points. HTH! Congrats on your purchase! :goodvibes

Received my membership cards in the mail yesterday!! I guess it is official. Good Luck everyone on the thread!!

Our timeline is finally complete,

June 27th - sent our offer for Saratoga Springs - 150 points
June 27th - Offer Accepted
June 27th - Recieved Contract and all other Paperwork
June 28th - Sent all paperwork back to the resale company
July 2nd - Seller sent his paperwork back
July 2nd - Contracts were sent to Disney for ROFR

The longest wait of my life.....

July 27th - I contacted the resale company to see if there was any word from Disney. They replied that it was in the final stages and we should hear on monday or tuesday.
July 30th - Approved by Disney
July 30th - Recieved paperwork from Disney (Closing Documents)
July 31st - Sent my money through a bank wire
July 31st - Disney recieved payment
August 3rd - Recieved Seller's paper work and Disney began working on my account set up and points transfer.
August 7th - My name showed up on Orange County website.
August 14th - Name is in Disney's system, no points yet.
August 15th - Account is set up and points added. First reservation is made, but Waitlisted.... so we wait some more....

Saratoga Springs 150 points plus 150 banked points (total 300 points for 2012) 65$ per point. Paid in full, no financing (which i hope everyone does).

Waiting is the hardest part of this adventure, especially when you know it has passed ROFR and you are waiting to get in the system.

We are very excited and hope our Waitlist pulls through (January 9th - 15th 2013)

Wow...less than two months from start to finish...not too bad. We are 8 days into the ROFR wait for a BCV contract. Waiting is soooooo hard!

I have another completed timeline for all the folks mid resale process. :cool1:

6/21 Offer made and accepted
6/22 contracts emailed
6/24 contracts faxed back
6/25 Contracts sent to Disney for ROFR
**** the long ROFR wait****:hourglass
7/17 Disney waives ROFR
7/27 closing documents emailed
7/28 FedEx'd documents and cashiers check for delivery
7/31 my closing docs received
**impatient wait**:scared:
8/9 got email that closing is complete and Disney has been notified of ownership change
8/16 call and got membership info and set up log in made first reservation :yay:

So all told, 8 weeks from offer to reservations. Not bad in my book. :yay:

I even spoke with the "infamous" Tammy and she was relatively pleasant -- perhaps because I had the decency to wait a full week before bugging anyone for membership info.:rolleyes1
