Timeframe to see room assignment(if at all)

The thing with room assignments is they can change right up to the moment you physically check in. It is not unknown for housekeeping to discover a problem when they go in to setup the room. There can also be reasons why a room has to be given to another guest to accommodate for various issues. In other words, your room cannot be assigned to you until it is verified as cleaned and cleared for your use. So, as a hotelier I can't see the room number being put on the app until that happens, so close to the time you'd get a text.

Is there a way to see your room assignment ahead of time on the website or app? If so, about how long before check in does it appear and where would it be?

You can see your room assignment by text or email once your room is ready for you on your check in day.
 

We are sitting on the Magical Express now and my Disney App shows a space for the room assignment under my resort reservation but it is still blank.
 
Sometimes folks aren't getting either of these, which why they have gone to putting it on the app

As you stated, as international travellers we have never received either a text or email with a room assignment.

If the app is updated within the time frame a text/email would be sent I think this is a great addition for us Canadian and other international neighbours.

So if we arrive at say noon and the room isn't ready, a quick glance at the app to see if the room has yet been assigned would be an indicator our room was ready? Here's hoping! It would certainly be a lot better than checking with the front desk sporadically throughout the afternoon.

I hope so. Hopefully, as more Dis'ers check in and see the feature on the app they'll note when they saw the room number in relation to when their room was actually ready, or when they were otherwise notified. Once more users report back it will be easier to pick up on the trend. One would assume that whatever notice was used to send out the text/email also sends out the update to the app so makes sense that it all happens together. But I also hate to assume anything about Disney tech

I'd have to guess that if you do see it appear on the app you can be sure it's ready for you. Well, as sure as you can be
 
anyone else have any updates on this process.... I wan to make a room request and was wondering how long does it take to let me know if I get it...
 
I forgot all about updating this.
We got our room about 11:00, while still at the airport waiting to get on ME. The slot for a room number appeared on MDE app about 5:45. I checked specifically to see if it switched over before or after 6 AM (when the computers roll over). It was before 6. The room number did not populate until a few minutes after I got the text.
