time to use bank points by?

Hi - If I have 200 banked 2008 points and the banked points have an April use year, I understand I have to use them by April. Does that mean I have to make a reservation by April or do I actually have to travel by April? Or could I made a reservation in say March for July with those points? Thanks for all the help learning DVC on this board!

If you have 2008 points banked into 2009 they must be used for travel that is completed by March 31 2010. You may be able to deposit them for a trade with RCI but I am not certain on how that works (if you can do it with banked points or not) or what the deadlines are.

You must both reserve and travel for DVC stays by the last day of the month prior to your UY. You could also use them to pay for other exchange options like RCI, CC, DCL, DC and in those cases could potentially use the points but travel at a later date depending on specifics. If you did decide to deposit first for RCI, please get more information prior to doing so. Looks like time to plan a trip.
