I have my adr's all planned out. So my question is what time would you recommend to make the ADR's for? I want to make them with allowing enough time to eat and watch the parade's. I can't make my ADR's until March 27th.

Magic Day~ Whispering Canyon Cafe (wishes parade is at 8) I know we need to allow 30 minutes to get to the resturant)

Animal/Mgm day~ Sci Fi Diner (fantasmic parade is at 8)

Epcot Day~ Le Cellier (Illuminations at 9)

Mgm/Epcot Day~ Coral Reef

Chef Mickey's on the last morning before check out. Was thinking about maybe like 9 or 9:30 since we have to check out at 11. Would give time to eat, interact with characters, and get back to hotel for 11 check out. What do you think.

Thanks for your input,
Brandie

Are you flying out of Orlando? You'll have to be at the airport 2 hours in advance. And If you're doing magical express they will pick you up even before that. If you're driving and not doing magical express...disregard this post.

Your ADR's sound scrumptious!

I've heard to always allow 45 minutes to an hour before parade/firework/show times. So I'd plan your ADR's accordingly.
Have a blast! :yay:

You know that Wishes and Fantasmic are firework shows and not parades, right?

So if Wishes is at 8pm, you'll want to be back in MK and finding a spot by about 7:15 or 7:30 (this is Sept., right?). So you'll need to be on the monorail leaving WCC by around 6:45. Only you know how long you and your family take to eat! LOL!

For Fantasmic, you'll want to be leaving Sci-Fi by around 7:15, that will give you time to walk over to the Fantasmic theatre and find a seat. Again, in Sept., you should have no problem getting into Fantasmic.

For Illuminations, you can come out of Le Cellier, hang left and get a spot right at Showcase Plaza. We went in September one year and I was shocked at how many great viewing spot were available for Illuminations during the show!

On our last day, we check out around 7am, store our bags, then head out to the parks (or in your case, head out to breakfast). That way you don't have to rush and be back for check out.

Have fun!

We like to make ours 5-6pm....the latest I would take is 6:30 but that is just my choice.....

Supossing that you DO NOT have ressies at a WDW resort and you are going to make ADR's,

Would you call on the 180th day of the day you want to dine for every ADR's that you make?

OR

Would you wait until the 180th of the LAST ADR's that you want to make and make ALL of your ADR's?

Here is the list of ADR's I would like to make
'Ohana Breakfast and Dinner
Coral Reef
Chef Mickey's
50's Primetime
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Liberty Tree Dinner
Princess Storybook Dining Breakfast

Brandie, I am guessing this is your 1st trip? (if not, please forgive!) As previous poster mentioned, the shows you mentioned are firework shows, not parades, though the Spectromagic parade often runs before Wishes (select nights, not sure of the time - usually an hour before Wishes). MK and MGM both have 3:00 parades, and I believe AK's parade is at 4. They're all great!;)

So if Wishes is at 8pm, you'll want to be back in MK and finding a spot by about 7:15 or 7:30 (this is Sept., right?). So you'll need to be on the monorail leaving WCC by around 6:45. Only you know how long you and your family take to eat! LOL!

Yes, you know how long it takes your family to eat in the "real" world, but at DW it's a different matter - plan on an hour and a half, even in Sept. If it's less, great. It could be more, depending on how busy the restaurant is. Buffet times are more up to you and family, unless you are waiting on a character (we waited at 1900 Park Fare for an hour while Cinderella changed her gown - a child spilled chocolate ice cream on her! We weren't about to leave w/o seeing her!)

For WCC, it's a ferrry ride, not monorail, to MK. The monorail does not go to WL. I would definitely try for around 5:00 for WCC, earlier (think late lunch) if you are planning to see Spectromagic. I think we did 4:45 one year for DS's b-day at WCC and barely got back to MK in time to see the fireworks at 8. We had to wait a while for the ferry, and dinner was longer due to the birthday, but it was so fun! The fireworks were not a priority that night, just a bonus.

I don't know the # or ages of your party, but I would also suggest to check out first, then go to Chef Mickey's. If you are using ME, you can store your bags with bell services.(Actually, if you are on a preferred airline, you can check your bags at the resort - they will go straight to the plane!) Make that morning leisurely, not rushed - our experience is that a meal, esp. a character meal, is not fun when you are in a hurry or stressed! Make your ressie late for Chef Mickey's, then you'll have time to pack up and check out before breakfast.

Hope this helps! Have a great trip!:thumbsup2

No its not my first trip. Just our first trip at staying on site and doing all 4 parks in one time. I know some are parades and some are fireworks shows I just wrote them down in the list of times with the parades so I know what times not to make our ADR's for. As this will be our first time using the dining plan. Thanks for the suggestions. We are actually driving so ME is not an issue for us. As after we check out we'll be spending a couple days with Alan's grandparents in Leesburg before heading home.

Brandie - sorry for calling you a newbie! It IS a different ballgame staying onsite and using the DDP. Eating at different resorts is fun, but takes a while for transportation, so that is why I would do Chef Mickey's later and check out first. Esp. since you're driving - just drive over to Contemp. and then you're done after breakfast - don't have to feel rushed to get back. You never know how long it might take the characters to come around. We saw several characters twice at Chef Mickey's, but other places we've had to wait a while. Still worth it, but I don't like feeling pressured for time when I am on vacation!

have a great time with your total Disney experience - you'll never want to go back!!:cool1:

Thanks for everyone's opinions. Here is what I am looking at doing when I can make my ADR's in 2 weeks :

23: Whispering Canyon Cafe: 5:30-6, allowing 30 min each way for ferry to get back to MK in time for Wishes,

24: Sci Fi Diner: 6-6:30 pm (Fantasmic at 8)

25: Le Cellier: 7-7:30 pm (Illuminations at 9)

26: Coral Reef: 7 -7:30 pm (Illuminations at 9 if we miss night before)

27: Chef Mickey's: 9:30-10 am (check out before hand and have them hold luggage) after breakfast go check out other hotels I want to see.
