Just wondering, if we are at HS to see Fantasmic at 6:30 pm, would we be able to take the boat to Epcot and make an 8pm ADR at the Rose and Crown? I would imagine there will be hoards of people exiting and taking the boats...

It's probably normally a toss-up between walking and taking the boat (25-30 minutes), but if the park is closing after Fantasmic - even if it's not, the boats will probably be extra crowded. Plus just getting out of the ampitheatre and to the exits takes a while after F! I think you're probably cutting it too close.

So if you can do it at all, I think you would have to walk.

My answer is going to be no. By the time you get out of the Fantasmic theater, out of DHS, over to the boat dock, wait 20 min for a boat (that's assuming you catch the first boat available), take the 20 min boat ride, you will be late.

Yes there will be hoards of people taking the boat. Not only those moving over to Epcot but all of the people staying at YC, BC, BCV, BWI, BWV, Swan and Dolphin will be trying to get on a boat.

that's what I thought. Thanks for the speedy replies :thumbsup2

I'd count on an hour to walk, not so much because it's far but because you'll be in with hordes and hordes of people leaving. It's about a 20, maybe 25 minute walk to the International Gateway from the front gates of the Studios--walk around past the Boardwalk and it's right there.

I can't imagine an hour to walk it, even at closing time. That does depend on how much time you have to spend just getting out of the park if you leave with everyone in the amphitheater though.

The boat ride itself will take a half hour (not counting time spent waiting for the boat). I think you might have a chance if you walk it - but not much of one if you take the boat.

I'd have to agree that it wouldn't take an hour- we walked from DHS to Boardwalk after the NYE fireworks at DHS and it took less than 20 minutes. Add 10-15 more to get to Rose & Crown. Regardless, it's still not enough time or too close for comfort.

It took us about 30 minutes to get from our seats in the Fantasmic theater to the buses when we did Fantasmic!, which is why I said to allow up to an hour from the end of the show to arriving at the International Gateway.

Gotcha - from leaving the theatre to Epcot - then I might agree - it's a zoo getting out of there!
