Time to DOUBLE up!! 2 for 1 Pre-TR!!!!!!! TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED!!!!!!!

We really want this to be a different and special trip. I'm going to try to do some research to try to find a few things we can do that will make it different. Staying at Give Kids the World Village is special in it self but I really want this to be a memorable trip.:lovestruc

You'll find some great ideas~you're in the right place :thumbsup2
What about a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness, hot air balloon at DTD, Pirates' cruise or the Family Magic tour? Are there any character meals you haven't done yet? I love character breakfasts.

The Princess tea, is it the one at GF? You are all going to have a wonderful time!

Yay for picking Disney. Good luck with finding special things to do-I am sure if anyone can make it special for her you can!!

I"m still voting for a tea party with Alice at the Grand Floridian. You're running out of time where this will still be fun for her.

Those all all great ideas! Maybe the Wishes cruise would be cool to do as well.

We haven't done Tusker House, 'Ohana, & Cape May character breakfasts. Hmmmm Now I'm trying to think if there are others we haven't done. :confused3

I' thinking the GF tea would be cool for her to do. I think only Alice is at that though. Jenseib's (DIS id) DD did that last year and she actually was able to get some pictures of it. I think the Hatter was there too. :scratchin

This research will just add to my DIS time. LOL

I'm open to anyone's ideas... so if you have any, let me know! :goodvibes

That is very true. I think I will be seriously considering it. She will be at the perfect age to do it too. She will be 4 1/2 (already :sad1:) if we get the September dates.

Since she didn't ask for a pony, you can still give her one. They offer pony rides at the Tri-Circle-D ranch in the back of Fort Wilderness. It's only like $4, and a parent leads the pony & child around a trail. It's nothing fancy or over-the-top, but my kids like like it.

Yes, MY DD did the Wonderland tea party with Alice and the Mad Hatter at 1900 Park Fare. There is also another tea paryt at GF (not sure which restaurant) which is about 200 I think, but it includes a daoll and Aurora, and a parent. I would LOVE to do this one, but a bit out of budget for us. Heck I can't even get DH to go! LOL!
Last night DD came to me in almost tears and said "dad told me I'm not big enough for rides". So we measured here. LOL! I told her yes she is, and she rode all those rides last year, so she is definately tall enough. (she actually grew 2 inches from last year! :scared1:)

The thing that stands out as fun is the Fiestaware Dishes!!! Yum~

Is Juliana going to be staring Kindergarten next year? If so, will the Sept 1 date interfere with her first day of school?

I think there is another Tea Party at the GF as well. It's the My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party.

From the Disneyworld Website:
My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party is a fantasy-come-true, with exciting gifts for your special princess (or prince). Princess Aurora may even join the fun at this enchanting party in the Garden View Lounge at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.

Girls 3 to11 years old are encouraged to attend dressed as their favorite Disney Princess, and a parent will need to accompany the young Royal. Your hostess, an enchanted rose called Rose Petal or one of her magical friends, will entertain the princesses with storytelling and songs. As they sip tea, the girls will receive the royal treatment and perhaps a special visit from Princess Aurora or another regal guest.

Each princess receives a selection of gifts as a keepsake of her storybook morning:

•A special 18-inch My Disney Girl doll dressed in a matching Princess Aurora gown plus accessories
•Her own ribbon tiara, silver Princess link bracelet, fresh rose, special princess scrapbook page and a "Best Friend" certificate
Young princes (should a boy's presence by required by the royal court) will receive a princely crown and plush Disney Bear.

The menu includes Garden View specialty tea and a luncheon plate consisting of Grapes, Mixed Berries, Egg Salad Sandwiches, Chicken-Almond Salad Sandwiches, Shrimp Salad Sandwich, Blue Cheese Tart, Smoked Cheddar Cheese, Derby Sage Cheese and Lavosh (a thin flat bread cracker).

Young Royals will be offered Apple Juice "tea" and a luncheon plate consisting of Ham and Cheese sandwich, Peanut Butter and Jelly Hearts, and Grapes.

Sounds like this one will be more of Juliana's cup of tea! :rotfl2:

I didn't see a place to make reservations for this dining event on the website. It just says to call the regular ressie number. Maybe it is seasonal or new? Not sure, but definitely worth a call.

Whats GKTW?

Yeah, thats the one I was talking about that is around $200. Yo ucan't make them online. These type of things you have to call for. at least so far.

Thanks for the pictures! It really looked like Claire had a great time!

Are you thinking of another trip, or was Skip just tormenting her? :lmao::goodvibes

Juliana will still be in pre-K. She goes to 2 day a week this school year and next year it will be 3 day a week. We aren't too concerned about her missing a few days.

I would be more apt to have Juliana do a pony ride. But we will see. Thanks for the info!

I remember reading about that tea party a while back. $200 is pretty expensive for a ham & cheese sandwich and a doll though. But I will definitely keep it in mind.

GKTW= Give Kids the World Village.... this is where most wish kids end up staying for their Disney Wish trips.

I wouldn't worry about missing a few days either . . . . it's just that FIRST day of school - you know, the one that requires pictures, new outfit, special breakfast, etc. Maybe that's just me, lol! Maybe I'm just steering your towards December because I think it would be the perfect time for you to go!

About the $200 tea party : For our family, MAW said they would pay for 1 'experience' during our trip. We chose the MVMCP, but also could have selected BBB, dining at CRT, etc. Your MAW chapter may operate in the same way. You may want to mention the $200 tea party to Juliana's Wish Granters - they will be able to tell you if it is something they will cover. It sounds like the PERFECT experience to fulfil Juliana's Wish for Tea with the Princesses.

Also, remember that you will recieve an expense check for your trip as well. If you eat at GKTW most of the time, the remainder of yours will likely more than cover the cost of the Tea Party.

OK. I just couldn't figure out any resorts with those letters. LOL!
LOL With all the abbreviations here on the DIS, I'm lucky I know CRT from CSR. LOL

Juliana's class picture is going to happen when we are away this March. So the first week she really won't miss that much. But Mel still says we will be in WDW in December. :confused3

I really didn't get into Juliana's trip too much (was trying to save some juicy details incase I start a PTR for her Wish trip) but they said they would book BBB for Juliana. I appreciate all the tips and ideas. Maybe I should just start her PTR so I can get to planning. LOL :lmao:

As a quick reminder we are going on this trip with our friends Dave & Branda and their two kids Victoria 3 and Alex 2. :)

I was trying to find 'old school' (literally) pictures of when I met Dave. We went to a catholic grammar school together from kindergarten through 8th grade together. I have the pictures to prove it, I just cannot find them. :confused3

In the 9 years we knew each other we barely even talked to each other, which is pretty funny considering there were only 22-28 kids in our class. I was in scouts and played sports, while Dave.... ummmmm I don't know what he did. :lmao:

SIDE NOTE: All my close friends, even through out high school, were the kids I grew up with on my street. There were 9 of us that were basically inseparable. We would come home from school and go to the park and play basketball or football for hours at a time. It didn't matter if it was sunny and 80, raining and 60, or snowing and 20. All our parents treated each of us as their own and would have us over for dinner or take us places with their families. The 9 of us we went to 3 different high schools. Our city has 8 high schools.

When we graduated 8th grade I went to a catholic high school and Dave went to a tech school. I didn't see him for over 2 years. Then one day he was hanging out with one of my close friends. Even though we had a tight group, once we started getting our licenses our group did expand a bit. Dave was part of our group.

We hung out through junior & senior year of high school and have been friends ever since. Our wives are friends and talk almost daily on the phone, although the first time Melody met Branda she was scared of her! LOL :rotfl:

We have remained great friends over the years and have gone on vacations, cruises, dinners, parties, etc together. Our kids are great friends as well. Juliana is only 3 weeks older than Victoria. Dave & Branda's son Alex is 13 months younger than Victoria. It is tough now because they live in Indiana while we are in Connecticut. I'm sure most of you recall our trip out to see them this summer. When we get together we like to have fun and enjoy ourselves. ;)

They are so cute!!!!

And here is a vote for you to start that Pre-Trippie....SOON!

Was the April 1 date THIS year?!?!?!

Aren't those the cutest pix EVER!! A fun look down memory lane!!

It's funny who you connect with after high school; I know for me it really changed, as my world view and politcal views developed later.
