How long would you allow to get to Ohana reservation from MK. Is 30 minutes enough time to wait on the monorail to pick us up and to get us there in time? Will have a group of 10 with small kids so I want to make sure we aren't late. TIA

Agreed on the 45 minutes. In all likelihood, it won't take that long, BUT .. . you never know, so better to leave a little extra time.

And, to add fuel to this fire, if this reservation is for 6:30PM or later, expect Ohana to be backed-up and late at seating guests.

It would be an advantage to arrive EARLIER than your reservation time (about a half-hour would be good) and check-in immediately at the desk.

Depending on the crowds at the monorails and resort launches and how many are in service you might want to budget about an hour. On a good day it should take you about 20-30 minutes (20 if you have a monorail waiting for you outside the park and can get right on and the monorail doesn't get blocked due to congestion on the line elsewhere. :) ) But if you've got a crowd and miss the first train/boat launch you're looking at about another 10+ minutes travel time for each delay.

Also take into account the natural law that the delays will grow exponentially in proportion to the urgency of your need to be elsewhere. Like catching your magical express bus... :)

We always budget an hour because you never know how full the monorail is going to be or how long it's going to take. We love the Poly, so we will usually hang out at the beach bar if we have time and then go check in 15 mins prior to our ADR.

Can you get access to the beach bar these days if you're not actually staying at the resort?

We are hoping to go to Trader Sam's before our dinner at Ohana for a beverage.

Yes, anyone can go to the beach bar area. We have never had an issue getting there and have never been asked for any type of id. Our last trip was June 2015 and no problems then.
