I was just wondering, what does your family do to kill time while waiting in lines or driving/flying to Disney? Heres a few of the games me and my sister play (and my parents if there up for it :goodvibes ).

.THE DISNEY ALPHABET GAME: Start with the first letter of the alphabet and name of disney characters as you go. see how far you can get. ex: A-Alice B-Buzz Lightyear and so forth.

.THE DISNEY NAME GAME:Yet again this usues the alphabet but a little more challengeing. You start with A and you say a disney girl name. Then an disney boy name thats starts with A. then a place where you come from that starts with A (doseny have to be a disney place, but a little difficult if you choose to) and then something you sell that starts with A (can also be disney-ified but not necessary. Ex: M my name is Minnie. My husbands name is Mickey. We come from Mousegears and we sell Mickey ice cream bars.

.I SPY?: yup same old classic game. me and my sister like to do this while in line. Not to easy to do in the car...

.WHO SAID?: Yup just like the game we have here on the Disboards. One person starts off with a quote/song lyric from a Disney movie and the other guesses.

Anybody else have any fun ideas theyd like to share? :wizard:

We play 20 questions Disney style! Someone will think of a Disney character and we'll take turns asking questions until we figure who the character is. We also like to quote movies and guess what movie it comes from. At the actual parks we like to look for Hidden Mickeys.

Since we mostly drive, we load up on Disney movies and play them on the portable DVD player on the way down. :happytv: It's a great way to get in the Disney mood (not that I'm ever not in a Disney mood) :rotfl2:

When we visit the world and have to wait in line we take out our hidden Mickey book and try to find as many hidden Mickey's as possible. My niece and nephew really loved trying to spot them in line and during the ride.

On our drive down, we always watch tons of Disney movies.....and the Disney Vacation Planning DVD...and this Magic Kingdom DVD we bought on our last trip!

As we get closer and closer to those wonderful Walt Disney World gates, we always take pictures of the first Disney things we see such as: the first Disney billboard, first Disney bus, first monorail etc..It gets us even more excited!

In line, we look at our hidden mickey book to see what hidden mickeys are on the ride or line that we are in. We also think of what's up next after we get off the ride we're in line for.

That is a great idea with the 20 questions. I'll have to try that. Usually I just talk/chat.

Or look for Hidden Mickeys

When we wait in line (or for a show in our seats), I ask questions from Disney Trivia Pursuit cards that I bring in a ziplock baggie. Waiting for Fantasmic and shows, other people around us like to play along. My kids listen to their music and watch DVD's and play PS2 on our way down. Hangman and Dots are also good in lines.

:goodvibes I had to check to see if ds wrote this! We do all the same games. We also use the alpha game to name disney movies. That can be tough. I don't think we ever got one for x.
BTW, DS insists he is going to be an actor when he grows up. He LOVES theater. I had to call him in to see your sig! He loves it.

As we are driving down, we play the NASCAR game (better played in the south). Spot any decal on a vehicle with a NASCAR number. You get a point. First one to name the driver gets five points (only for the first time a decal is spotted). If you can name the car owner, 10 points. If you can name a teammate, 15 points. If you spot a car with both #8 and #24, 50 bonus points.

We also play "The Soccer Mom" game (for lack of a better name). Spot any vehicle with a ribbon magnet and get a point for each one. Spot a vehicle with any sport related magnet and get five points. If the sport magnet is personalized with the child's name, 10 points. If you spot a vehicle with a "My son/daughter is an honor student at....." bumper sticker, you lose 5 points.

While driving (which we do a lot) we like to play Football with the license plates. Whenever you pass a car (or a car passes you) you take turns on who gets the plate. If there is a 2,3,6 or 7 (1 also if there is a 6) you get those points. First player to reach 100 (or whatever score you set) wins.

We also play state tags. This can be done competively (alternating cars) or jointly. We try to see how many different states plates we can find.

While in line, you can do a version of the states game by looking at articles of clothing (tshirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc...) or you can change it to Disney characters, Sports teams, celebrities, etc...

I though we were the only one with the state tag game - my husband makes fun of me every trip! But now he is keeping track if I fall asleep - it is addicting :rotfl:
We also do all of the Alphabet games, the DVD's, and we also take a workbook of the US States and we can play games guessing facts about the states - our kids love this and I really don't think they know how much they are learning :rotfl2:
I love the NASCAR one - we will try this on our trip this weekend - love that #8 and #24 on same car gets 50 bonus pts :lmao:
Thanks for all of the great ideas and to the OP for starting this!

We play an alphabet game where you start with A of course...and you have to find a roadsign with A in it then B then C and so on...sometimes we allow car tags to be used...esp if were not finding q and z.

Love the NASCAR game what a good idea, of course I would kill everybody in the car. I live in Charlotte and work on certain racing tv shows....
