Timandlesley's The Sum of Our Thrills TR w/ tons of pics&video 9/27 PTR link pg.58

Lesley,

Great start. The Nick hotel looks like so much fun. My Aunt and Uncle are thinking about staying there when they had down to Universal next summer and I think they will love it.

I love Flippers pizza as well. We had it when we stayed near Sea World for a few days after our Disney trip and ended up having it twice for dinner.

Can't wait to hear more.

I found you Lesley!!

I haven't been around the DIS as often as I'd like, but I do read your blog and the most recent installment reminded me that I needed to come and find you!! (Your blog is wonderful, by the way)

Now that I'm caught up I would love to read your girls' trip TR!

However, the neat thing about your family, and the reason so many of us are huge fans of your TRs, is your positive attitude. You and Tim and the kids always have fun and enjoy being together. Your kids are well-mannered and loving and they appreciate everything you do for them. You and Tim seem to really support each other and try to make each other (and the kids) happy. You are very caring individuals, and that makes your family so enjoyable to see. And of course, you have a real gift for capturing the essence of the experience in your reports so that we can get a vicarious thrill. Thanks! Can't wait to hear more! :dance3:

I would love to reiterate this. And from reading your blog I know that God is the glue that bonds your family together. It shows Lesley, it REALLY shows in everything you do.

You have such great ideas for the kids (i.e. car dance party, Nick Hotel surprise). I showed DH the video of the "reveal" and said, "These are the kind of parents I want us to be some day!"

Wow, it seems I don't have enough of my own thoughts today, or else others are stealing them ;) I agree, can't wait to be a fun mom like Lesley!

As always, I look forward to reading more! Thanks for sharing all your Nick hotel adventures, makes me want to take a trip there someday. And just figures Tim would get picked to do the underwear race

hey Tim!...:thumbsup2

OMG!!!!! SERIOUSLY! What are the odds that you all were in the exact same room two years in a row. Do you think they could rename it the TimandLesley Suite?!?!!?!? :)

ditto this too! :lmao:

Hi Jen!! :wave2: How ya been??

I just think it is one of the funniest things to ever stumble upon on a trip report!!! I am so glad that other poster found it out!

I'm doing GREAT Cherbear!!! SO good to see you too!

Disney Day 1 Part 1:
So on June 16th we checked out of the Buena Vista Suites (after enjoying our complimentary buffet breakfast) and headed to Disney. Disney was calling our names and we were so excited to check in at Animal Kingdom Lodge and head to the Magic Kingdom.
We got in the car and before we knew it we were under the Mickey arches:
IMG_7278640x480.jpg

Home Sweet Home!!!!!
IMG_7281640x480.jpg

IMG_7282640x480.jpg

We went inside and as always it just felt like HOME!!! The kids were so excited to be there!
IMG_7285640x480.jpg

Unfortunately the room wasn’t ready so we took our “Key to the World Cards” and headed to the Magic Kingdom. (as a side note, for those of you who read my girls only April TR, Diane and I were upgraded to concierge level at the Wilderness Lodge and we were given golden cards and we kept rubbing it into Tim that we were “VIP’s” Well, when we were checking in I noticed our Key to the World cards were also gold, for a minute I got excited thinking that we had been upgraded too, but the guy said they were accidentally cut on the wrong card, I just thought that was funny ; )
We pulled the car up and unloaded all of our luggage to bell services and left the stuff that needed to be refridgerated with them too, nice touch they can keep this stuff cold for you.
As we were waiting on Tim to park the car Luke looked at me and said “AHHHHH mom, we’re here, don’t you just LOVE Disney!!!!! “ I LOVE how our love for Disney has rubbed off on my kids.
Tim was there quick and we headed to the bus stop:
100_6651640x480.jpg

Our bus mojo was working and there was a bus there and we got right on:
100_6655640x480.jpg

100_6659640x480.jpg

It was a BEAUTIFUL day in the Magic Kingdom:
100_6662640x480.jpg

We headed over to Fast pass Splash Mountain and on the way we saw that Princess Tiana was there with a short wait so we got in line (Lauren was THRILLED!!!)
As we were waiting in line Lauren said “she is the most beautiful princess”, I TOTALLY agree with her, she is gorgeous, and I LOVE her dress.
I must say that Tiana was the best princess of our whole trip, she was such fun. She instantly saw Luke’s Blue Man Group shirt he was wearing and started reading it:
100_6668640x480.jpg

Then she started doing the rock concert moves on the shirt:
100_6669640x480.jpg

Then she got to the dance move #4 on his shirt that had a leg behind the guys head and she said “can you do number 4??” And this was her facial expression as she was asking:
100_6670640x480.jpg

Then it was picture time:
100_6671640x480.jpg

100_6672640x480.jpg

It was a great time, she was wonderful! The kids were so excited. We headed to Frontierland:
100_6673640x480.jpg

You like the back of Tim’s shirt!?! It was the HOTTEST day EVER that day. It was one of those days where if you were standing STILL the sweat was just dripping down your legs, the hottest day of our trip by far and they were all hot.
We grabbed Fast Passes for Splash:
100_6675640x480.jpg

And we jumped into the short standby line for Thunder Mountain Railroad:
100_6674640x480.jpg

100_6681640x480.jpg

100_6682640x480.jpg

Like I said before it was a HOT day, after the ride we took time to cool down:
100_6685640x480.jpg

A Dole Whip Float was calling my name:
100_6686640x480.jpg

Luke and I enjoyed our floats (quickly because they were melting FAST!)
100_6687640x480.jpg

It went down GREAT as always, just love those

Leslie, Hi! We are really enjoying your report. I doubt you'll remember me, but my husband Jeff and I actually met you last June at an elevator at the AKL! Anyway, your family and ours seem to be very similiar, especially regarding Disney. Our love of Disney has also rubbed off on the kids, and this year instead of a Sweet Sixteen, Lindsay only asked for the family to go to Disney! We lucked out! Can't wait to read the rest of your trip! Jane

Sorry about that!:rotfl: I thought I only copied one line in your report about rubbing off on your kids! I am a dope! Jane

Hey Guys!

Finally got a chance to get started on your trippie now the kids are on summer holidays!!

Fantastic start! Love the video of the kids reaction to the stay at Nick Hotel!!! Just amazing! The hotel looked fantastic as well!!!

What a HOT first day at Disney! I'm hoping that its not TOO hot in October. We like the warm sunshine but anything over about 80 deg for us just is too much! We are pale Scots remember!:rotfl2:

It took me ages to find that hidden mickey I must have stared at it for about 20mins!!!LOL Very cool tho!

Can't wait for the next update!

Carreen
xxx
Hi Carreen, glad you made it over! Yes, it was a HOT one, we loved the October weather much better! Happy to see you found he hidden Mickey, one of my favorites in the parks!
Leslie:

They have the UP pin set online at the Disney Store on sale for 7.99 with free shipping code FREESHIP

http://www.disneystore.com/sale-disney-up-pin-set-3-pc/p/1260541/61497/

Maybe something for Luke!?!?
I showed this to Luke, he REALLY wants it, we'll see, thanks for the heads up!
Hi Lesley! Enjoying living vicariously through your TR and all those great picspopcorn:: And THANK YOU for the tip about the teacher's rate at the Nick Hotel!!! The kids have always wanted to stay there and we have heard how much fun it is for years but we just couldn't see spending the $$$ for one night. We have taken advantage of the teacher's rate at the Swan and the Dolphin but never knew the Nick had one too :thumbsup2 We will have to try this as we always do one night somewhere besides our DVC on our arrival day (we drive down too).
Glad you are enjoying the report. Nick hotel is great, you will like it.
I do see that hidden mickey! Can't wait to be a big shot and point it out next week on my birthday trip!:lmao:
Thanks Lesley!
Happy you found it. Enjoy pointing it out on your trip, it's to the right of the boat.

SO happy that you are back and already giving us the report!! I am hooked, as always, to your report :) I can't believe how grown up Luke is looking!
Glad you are enjoying it. I know, my baby is growing up, that's why I cried like a baby during Toy Story 3 this week

I was thinking the same thing! Luke is definitely losing the baby look. I guess that happens around 9 or 10 yrs old. He's a very nice looking boy!
I know, he's growing up so fast, thank you for the compliment, very sweet o fyou.
Hey Lesley! I just found your reports- I love reading them! I thought this was funny- I was reading this years TR and when I read all the installments I went to read last year's TR. I saw this from last years report:
02550.jpg
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2224335 (post #1) Looks like you guys had the same view because it was the same room. :) Can't wait to read more! I thought that was funny and thought I'd share.

ETA: I have no idea why the "thumbs down" is on the top of the message! Sorry about that, I tried to take it away and couldn't figure it out. :confused3
SOOOOOOOOO funny!!!! Thanks for finding this. It's funny, when we were there I said to Tim "I swear this is the same view as last year, wonder if it's the same room". I even said I should pull out the pics from our TR last year to see, but you beat me to it, WHAT ARE THE ODDS RIGHT!?!?! Too funny!!! Thanks!

Great update! I guess a sweltering day in Disney is better than a perfect weather day spent at work/school, right?

What would a timandlesley report be without Lauren's poses??? :rotfl:
ABSOLUTELY! You are correct about Lauren's poses, she's been doing them since she came out of the womb ; )
:lmao: No, not really, I just saw the pics right after one another and thought it was a funny coincidence! After reading through the TR's though, I was very entertained and can't wait to read the other installments. :)
So glad you like them, more installments coming soon. If you go to my Pre TR link at the top of this TR, in that first post I list links to ALL of our previous TR's, will give you something to do as you await these updates : )

You aunt and uncle should love it. Glad you have tried Flippers, super yummy!

I can't tell you how much this post touches my heart, thank you so much for being so sincere. I truly appreciate every thing that you said. Yes, God IS the glue that keeps us together. Glad you have read and enjoy the blog.

OMG!!!!! SERIOUSLY! What are the odds that you all were in the exact same room two years in a row. Do you think they could rename it the TimandLesley Suite?!?!!?!? :)
I know, RIGHT!?!?! That would be AWESOME (but no chance : (

Hi Jane!!! I do remember you and mentioned you in our TR last year when we returned. I think I even remembered your Dis name correctly. Hope our kids still wish for Disney when they are teenagers!
Sorry about that!:rotfl: I thought I only copied one line in your report about rubbing off on your kids! I am a dope! Jane
No problem! It happens to the best of us : )

Ugh! I told myself I would not get on the Disboards for a while, cuz I have no trip planned for a few years. :guilty:
But, I just had to get on the trip reports, and find another Timandlesley's trip report.
Now I am hooked all over again. popcorn::
But, brings back some awesome memories from our March trip ! :cloud9:
Thanks for bringing us along ..............................

You are right- the odds are pretty small! You probably wouldn't have gotten the same room if you had requested it! :lmao: I have to admit, I always wonder if we have ever gotten the same room before but I always forget the room numbers! I will have to take pictures from now on and compare! Can't wait to read more about your trip. :goodvibes

Alright…….. so when I last left you we were chased away from the pool on a hot day due to thunder. We headed upstairs to get showered and ready for dinner.
IMG_7290640x480.jpg

MADE YA LAUGH : )
Some pics of us before dinner;

We had dinner reservations at LeCellier so we went to the bus stop to head to Epcot:
IMG_7293640x480.jpg

IMG_7291640x480.jpg

It was a BEAUTIFUL night at Epcot!
IMG_7295640x480.jpg

We stopped and watched the fountain show, just love it:
IMG_7300640x480.jpg

IMG_7298640x480.jpg

We made our way to Canada and posed for a picture in their gorgeous garden:
IMG_7302640x480.jpg

As soon as we snapped that picture our table was ready so we headed into our table. My handsome hubby ready for some pretzel bread:
IMG_7303640x480.jpg

Our waitress was wonderful and we asked her to bring out extra pretzel bread and she did and we indulged:
IMG_7304640x480.jpg

(don’t know why Luke decided to cut it with a fork this year)
We weren’t on the deluxe dining plan so appetizers weren’t included but Tim and I HAD to both pay out of pocket for some bacon and cheddar soup, YUM YUM DOUBLE YUM!
IMG_7305640x480.jpg

The kids each got it as an appetizer as part of their meal (it was included), so we all had fun dipping our pretzel bread into the bowls of heavenly goodness

IMG_7307640x480.jpg

IMG_7308640x480.jpg

Like father like son of course:
IMG_7309640x480.jpg

Tim ordered the New York Strip:
IMG_7310640x480.jpg

The kids each had steak as well:

I ordered the ONE AND ONLY thing ANYONE ordering a steak at LeCellier should order, THE MUSHROOM FILLET!!!!!!!!
IMG_7314640x480.jpg

If that didn’t make you drool, let’s get a closer look for ya:
IMG_7313640x480.jpg

Then it was time to squeeze desert into our bellies, I got my favorite, Smore’s:
IMG_7315640x480.jpg

Then we ROLLED ourselves out of the restaurant and enjoyed strolling around the World Showcase on a beautiful night.
The kids wanted to stop into the Little Toy Soldier toy store in Great Britian. We were happy to find Pooh and Tigger at the back of the store:

IMG_7318640x480.jpg

IMG_7320640x480.jpg

IMG_7321640x480.jpg

When we were in line Tim scored a coffee and got REALLY comfy in the chairs:
IMG_7324640x480.jpg

While Tim was sipping his coffee Lauren enjoyed the Kidcot station:
IMG_7323640x480.jpg

IMG_7325640x480.jpg

IMG_7327640x480.jpg

Luke enjoyed goofing around:
IMG_7322640x480.jpg

I walked outside and enjoyed the musical entertainment (and people watching, another favorite Disney pastime of mineJ:
IMG_7328640x480.jpg

Then we decided we wanted to head back to the hotel to give the kids an opportunity to swim. We walked toward the gate and I started taking pictures of the beautiful scenery:
TRON-O-RAIL!!!

IMG_7331640x480.jpg

IMG_7333640x480.jpg

IMG_7336640x480.jpg

Then it was MISSION time for Luke. When we were at the Magic Kingdom the previous day Luke saw a CM with a “puffle” pin from Club Penguin on his lanyard. The “puffle” sets are 40.00 if you buy them and Luke didn’t have enough souvenier money for that so he wanted to trade for puffles. So we spent the next half hour here, stalking CM’s looking for puffle pins:
IMG_7334640x480.jpg

NO LUCK, we couldn’t find any CM’s with puffles. We continued to stop at every CM, including Guest Relations (they brought out a HUGE book to look through- tip for all you pin fans out there), but no puffles.
So we headed back to the resort:
IMG_7337640x480.jpg

We got back and Luke searched every CM in the Animal Kingdom Lodge gift shop, no luck. He spotted a guy at the Photopass counter with one, SCORE!!!! He was SOOOOOO excited. Then Lauren was upset, we didn’t realize she wanted them too (guess she got into the hunting aspect and she does love Club penguin). So Luke, being an awesome big brother found ANOTHER one this kid had and said to the boy “I’ll trade you ANYTHING on my lanyard, ANYTHING for a puffle pin for my sister”, and instantly they both had puffle pins:
IMG_7338640x480.jpg

Then we went up to the room, got the kids changed into their suits and headed down to the pool. They had fun swimming, and Tim and I had fun having an adult beverage and relaxing poolside. Great end to a GREAT day!!!
