Timandlesley's The Sum of Our Thrills TR w/ tons of pics&video 9/27 PTR link pg.58

Awesome! We just love the taste of Africa.

If you look at the stream outside the window where you were sitting there is a hidden mickey on one of the big rocks in the water. :)

What a great, relaxing day! Girls and Guys days are always fun. Yours and Lauren's future is so cute! I've never seen some of those pictures. Where is Eddy's Ice Cream? It looks SO yummy!

Yours and Tim's picture before your date is great! And your meal looks absolutely amazing!!! We've eaten at Boma for breakfast and dinner, but we haven't tried Jiko. Do they use as much ginger and that sweet spice as they do at Boma? That was the only thing we didn't like about Boma.

Another fantastic Disney day for your family!

I had got behind again, but all caught up now. Great updates as usual. I love how your kids play up to the camera, they are just adorable. My DGS usually frowns or looks the other way when I pull out the camera, I'm hoping for some smiles on our Disney trip. It's funny that you mentioned how much they have grown since you started your trip reports, I was thinking the same thing. I haven't posted on the older reports, but I have read all of them and it's amazing much they have grown from when you started.

I'm number 72 on facebook votes for Tim.

Terri

Finally all caught up! The pictures from NY and NJ are great! Glad you had such a good time.

I went on and voted for Tim on Facebook! I think I was #72 this AM! Hope you guys win!

I love Teppan Edo and Lauren looks great in her Komono! What a nice mother/daughter day! I haven't seen a line at Figment since it was the Original (and the best in my opinion). As for your kids growing up and looking back at the pictures...I guess we can all agree with that. With reading so many of your TR I can see how much your kids have grown also!

I really like that picture of you and Tim in front of Jiko! Plus I agree Jiko is sooo good especially the Filet and Mac N Cheese. Looking forward to your next update and seeing all the Photopass pictures!

With all of the different places you and Tim have stayed where and how would you rank the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

I don't normally venture over to this board often as I don't have a trip to the states planned in the future, but I just wanted to say how much i've enjoyed reading your trip reports and they've really made me smile! Sounds like you had an amazing trip!

You guys have SMOKED the competition over there on DJ Intelligence. :rotfl: You have 70 likes! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Jiko always looks so, so delish. We are going to take advantage of those awesome child care centers as soon as Henry is old enough so we can get a date night! Jiko is top of the list!

We haven't been in Cool Place in a long time. At one time didn't it have all of the different flavors of Coke that were preferred around the world?

That steak looked amazing, but I don't know about mac & cheese with a rare staek on top.

I see that Cellier became a 2 credit eatery & the time that I was planning to go to WDW just became more expensive because it is no longer a value season. Oh well now to economize somewhere else. :scared1:

WHAAAAAAT???! 2 CREDITS????? WHEN?? WHERE? HOW?? :faint:

There was a young man who was from China running this stand, HONESTLY DISNEY, why do you put this poor guy out there, He could NOT understand what we were saying, the line was going SO slow, soooooooooo HOT and we were in the sun, We literally waited about 20 minutes for ice cream.

We had several experiences like this on my family’s most recent trip (July 21-27) and had the exact same thought: why does Disney do this?

In our situations, we were not a country in Epcot, but rather, the Magic Kingdom and at our Hotel. We also encountered cast members attempting to operate cash registers that had a very difficult time understanding English or how to operate a cash register. Theses types of very tedious and frustrating experiences put well intentioned cast members in very unfair situations.

We LOVE Jiko's! I was the same way with the prime rib - trying to decide whether we should substitute and I was so glad we did not! Thank you for the picture...it's making me drool.

I read it last night about the changes for next year. It was on DIS home, I think, along with price increases.

I've never been able to get a ressie at Le Cellier, maybe this will give me a chance.

Wonderful update & photos! Very nice date night @Jiko's, and love Lauren's blue "kimodo"! :goodvibes

I have to admit something that will probably sound outrageous...I've never been on Facebook. My sons will be proud of me - I signed up, and I'm #79 to post "like" for Tim. Best of luck!! :cheer2: :woohoo:

Lesley - I've read and enjoyed your other T.R.'s, but hadn't seen the girl's only one until today. Loved it!! What a fun-filled adventure you and Dianne had - except for your trip back home...Eeek! I'm not a good flyer under the best circumstances, so probably would have fainted or gotten sick!:scared1: (Good thing I'm only an 8 hr drive from WDW!!)

Looking forward to your next update! I'm a fan, and am turning my DH into one too! :cool1: popcorn::

So, we decided it would be a girls/boys morning.

Too funny that it was the boys who wanted to shop! :rotfl2: I'm with you, though. I really don't like to window shop or browse. :confused3 I love all the pics you got of Lauren posing; she is so cute! :lovestruc

I was in panic mode! I kept going from machine to machine to machine, at each station it kept saying they were all out of Mezzo Mix…….. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bummer! I hope they had it later in the trip for you!

Happy girl with her ice cream:

YUM!!! :yay:

We got our swimsuits on and headed down to the pool and we ate lunch at the Mara counterservice. They have very yummy flatbread pizzas there. It was so nice having a relaxing morning followed by a relaxing afternoon eating poolside.

Sounds like it's been an awesome day so far, and about to get better! :woohoo:

Me and my hot date:

Fantastic picture!

If I ever eat at Jiko, I'm definitely ordering this! :thumbsup2

How fun to have a girls' day/ boys' day! I am with you -- shopping is so not my thing most of the time. I do make an exception when on vacation, though.

I just can't get over that there was a line for Figment! I remember being shocked when you posted that picture on Facebook. I don't think I have ever seen a line there!

The ice cream looks delicious! So delicious, in fact, that I may have to have one of those ice cream sandwiches sitting in the freezer. :lmao:

Luke's Goofy hat is great! :thumbsup2

Dinner at Jiko looks and sounds heavenly! I was just saying over on Diane's trip report that I need to go there just to try the desserts!

Love the update. Jiko looks soooo yummy and it is nice that you got a nice date night out.

Love Luke's Goofy hat.

Lauen is so adorable, great pics. Looks like
fun to the max as usual!! The food looks delsih!
I cannot wait to see that mouse in nov and experience
some long awaited disney fun!!!:goodvibes
Thanks, we had a really fun morning. The food is AMAZINg at Jiko. When are you going in November?

Sounds like an awesome day. Relaxing days are the best

The meal at Jiko looks so good. mmmm

Looks like kids had a great time in pool as well :goodvibes
Relaxing days are my favorite! Jiko is wonderful! Glad you enjoyed the update.

Just back from two weeks in Hawaii and got caught up on your summer vacations. What a bunch of wonderful weeks! That's what summer is all about. I can't believe you got to go to Carlo's Bakery!!!! We were just watching that show tonight. :) So far it seems that you were having a very nice trip at Disney, with little to no complaints. (except for the poopoo smell)
TWO WEEKS, soooo jealous, hope you had a wonderful time. Carlo's was such fun, LOVE that show!
Definitely booking Jiko next trip and definitely having what you had!!!
You definitely should, it will not disapoint!
Oh you sound like you had such a great day! Great that you guys could split up and do what you felt like that day. You and Lauren look like you had lots of fun. Too bad you didn't get your Mezzo MIx. The ice cream looks yummy. You guys look soo great for your date night, so pretty and handsome! Hmm, I wouldn't have thought mac and cheese would go with steak. Glad it was yummy!
We did have a wonderful day, I had a great time with my girl. Thanks for the date night pic compliment. THAT mac and cheese with steak is amazing!
No Mezzo Mix... ANYWHERE?!?! How terrible. I hope you were able to find some later...

Glad you enjoyed a boy/girl day.... I think it's funny that the BOYS were shopping!

You and Tim looked fabulous for your date night... dinner looked fabulous too!

Thanks for your great (and consistent) updates. When does school start for you?
I was totally bummed about the mezzo mix. Thanks for the pic compliment, the dinner was great. First day for me is the 20th and then for students 23rd. For Luke it's the 24th for Lauren 26th.
LOoks like another great day! I too have never seen those lines in Epcot...yikes! Glad to know they go by fast....and your date night looks dreamy ...I'm so dreaming of that one day!!

I had to be a pest...but only if you have time and if you do have one...I'd love to read your TR when Lauren was a baby. I looked in your siggy and it wasn't there.

It was another great day. Hope you get that date night soon! I will try to find the link, so far I'm not having any luck. The oldest one I can find is this one:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1145882&referrerid=&highlight= Lauren was 2 1/2 in that trip.
Great update!

Lauren is the cutest! You have the greatest pictures of her and i love them!

Im so exited for Jiko. The food looks so good!

waiting for another update...
Thanks, glad you liked the update, another one coming tonight!

Great update!!!

Lesley...best meal??? OMG so that steak is BETTER than Le Cellier??? Is it made of GOLD?

Sounds like you and Lauren had such a fun day! Will Tim come and give his little report on Luke and Tim's day? Love Luke's hat!!
Yup, better than LeCellier, I love them both but Jiko wins. We did have a great day. Tim said they didn't do enough worth reporting on, just shopping.

A girls & boys morning sounds lovely.
Jiko looks amazing. I definitely have to try it.
It was a great day, hope you try Jiko, you will love it.
Another awesome update! Jiko looks amazing!!!
Glad you enjoyed it, another update coming tonight.
Awesome! We just love the taste of Africa.

If you look at the stream outside the window where you were sitting there is a hidden mickey on one of the big rocks in the water. :)
Cool, I'll have to check that out : )
What a great, relaxing day!

Eddy's is right by club cool, it's purple, can't miss it, it was yummy. Thanks for the pic compliment. It depends on what you order, I know what you mean about Boma, but the food I had at Jiko didn't have those spices, the servers are amazing and will help you pick somethiing you would love.

I had got behind again, but all caught up now. Great updates as usual. I love how your kids play up to the camera, they are just adorable. THANKS FOR THE VOTE he is up to 110 now and the contest ends tomorrow. SO hoping he wins. Glad you are enjoying the TR. They have grown up soooo much!

Thanks for the vote, you are helping him win! Teppan Edo is so yummy, that komono was just to stinkin' cute. Yes, love the Filet and Mac and Cheese, update coming tonight : )

With all of the different places you and Tim have stayed where and how would you rank the Animal Kingdom Lodge?
Wow, that's a toughie. Wilderness Lodge is still our FAVORITE because of the closeness to Magic Kingdom, for DVC though Animal Kingdom is first and Bay Lake Tower second. We LOVE the all under one roof that animal Kingdom has to offer, the theming, restaraunts, etc.
I don't normally venture over to this board often as I don't have a trip to the states planned in the future, but I just wanted to say how much i've enjoyed reading your trip reports and they've really made me smile! Sounds like you had an amazing trip!
Welcome, glad you found us and are enjoying it. Thanks!

Jiko always looks so, so delish. We are going to take advantage of those awesome child care centers as soon as Henry is old enough so we can get a date night! Jiko is top of the list!
So far so good, thanks for your vote!!! The child care centers are great, you will love them!

I don't know if they did, but they are from around the world and they have a description of them at the kiosks. Can't believe it's a 2 credit either, but still 1 for lunch so we'll eat for lunch then.

We had several experiences like this on my family’s most recent trip (July 21-27) and had the exact same thought: why does Disney do this?

So frustrating!

Jiko ROCKS!!! Sorry to make you drool.

Jiko was such a great date night. THANKS FOR THE VOTES, he's winning now and the contest ends tomorrow! Yes, that flight back in April was HORRIBLE, can' you believe I'm getting on another plane in November:scared1: Glad your DH is enjoying it too, another update tonight:thumbsup2

Too funny that it was the boys who wanted to shop! I'm with you, though. I really don't like to window shop or browse. I love all the pics you got of Lauren posing; she is so cute! :lovestruc

Lauren is always the constant poser. I hope you get a chance to eat at Jiko, soooo good.

Great updates. I am glad you enjoyed NYC, I did as well.
NYC is just wonderful!

How fun to have a girls' day/ boys' day! I am with you -- shopping is so not my thing most of the time. I do make an exception when on vacation, though.

I couldn't believe the line for figment either, the only explanation is tha tHoney I shrunk the Audience was closed so maybe people who went back there for that went on figment:confused3 The ice cream was yummy, hope you enjoyed the ice cream sandwich:rotfl2: I loved his goofy hat because he's still at the age where he wore it with pride;) Go for more than the desserts, Jiko is incredible!

Love the update. Jiko looks soooo yummy and it is nice that you got a nice date night out.

Love Luke's Goofy hat.
Glad you enjoyed it, another update coming tonight!

So when I last left you we had enjoyed a wonderful date night at Jiko after our girls/boys days (if you haven’t read it yet, then click here:

The updates are coming fast now that I’m almost back to school and I don’t want you to miss anything : )
So………….
Today would be our last full day of Disney magic so we got up early. Our goal was to be at Magic Kingdom for rope drop. We headed down to the lobby by 8:15:
103_7273800x600.jpg

We met Diane and we all headed out together. We were at the bus stop in plenty of time to get to the park by opening:
103_7274800x600.jpg

The bus came quickly and we were happy to have seats:
103_7275800x600.jpg

As we got there the opening show was going on, so Tim put Lauren on his shoulders so she could see:
103_7276800x600.jpg

Luke was wearing his Goofy hat (he wanted to wear it to the Toontown Rope drop in hope to ride it with Goofy first thing):
103_7277800x600.jpg

Before we knew it the rope was dropped and we were headed into the park with the masses:
103_7278800x600.jpg

We headed to Buzz Light Year for some friendly competition. I rode with Lauren:
103_7279800x600.jpg

I was NOT on my A-Game this morning, here is my pathetic score:
103_7282800x600.jpg

Lauren had a ton of fun on the ride:
103_7283800x600.jpg

As we exited the ride we had two great character interactions with no line, first were Chip and Dale:
103_7284800x600.jpg

103_7285800x600.jpg

Then Stitch:
103_7287800x600.jpg

Then we headed to the tea cups. Tim and Diane don’t do “spinny” rides so Bryan and I rode with the kids. Lauren and I had our own tea cup:
103_7290800x600.jpg

Bryan rode with the boys:
103_7291800x600.jpg

After that we headed over to Small World because Diane had promised Lauren she would ride with her and since this was our last day in the parks Lauren was holding her to it : ) So away we went:
103_7293800x600.jpg

All of the construction walls lined where Pooh’s Playful Spot and Ariels Grotto used to be (I can’t WAIT to see the Fantasyland expansion when it is done):
103_7292800x600.jpg

I looked at my watch and realized it was approaching rope drop time for Toontown and I had PROMISED Luke we would be there for that so Luke and I left the pack and headed back towards Toontown:
103_7294800x600.jpg

He was SO excited!
103_7295800x600.jpg

He wanted to be picked for rope drop so bad! Well, this is where I got a bit upset for my son. The CM came out and said “do I have any princesses who can help me open Toontown” and she let all of the little girls come up, gave them pixie dust and had them throw it in the air to open Toontown. COME ON DISNEY!!! I am a mother of a princess myself, but does it always have to be about princesses?? Why couldn’t it have been “do I have any kids” Luke was disappointed but we didn’t let that get in the way of our fun, we were first to ride Barnstormer:
