Timandlesley's The Sum of Our Thrills TR w/ tons of pics&video 9/27 PTR link pg.58

I was gone for a week and you went crazy with the posts! What a wonderful trip all the way around! It is always just so much fun to see your family enjoy each other and their activities so much. You have a great family vibe. And double fun to have another nice family to share it with. Enjoyed the pictures from the East coast trip too. I just love Luke in that Goofy hat! He is adorable, and of course Lauren always takes wonderful pictures. They really are growing up quickly! I hope Tim won the contest - let us know.

Ah, it's always a little sad when it is your last full day at Disney, but it looks like you crammed a whole lot of fun into that day!

The picture of the kids with Chip and Dale and Stitch turned out really cute!

Poor Luke! I would have been a little disappointed, too, at the Toontown rope drop, but hurray for riding Barnstormer twice!

Lauren strutting and dancing as she walked with Tim cracked me up!!! :lmao:

Woo hoo for riding all three mountains!!! What does Stacy call it -- The Triple Mountain Whammy!!!

Lesley, I think I am caught up. (I was away for a week- you know how much you miss on the dis in a week!!) Your update on Jiko makes me really want to try it--without kids! :goodvibes

When did you first put Luke and Lauren in a Kid's Club and did it take any convincing that they wouldn't mess anything? I think my kids would totally freak because they would be afraid that they would miss something!

Deb

Wow, you guys were busy on your last full day! I loved this update. There was so much I wanted to comment on and I've already forgotten. Lauren is a character with that "strutting" photo of her from behind. And love the one of her and Tim holding hands.

Glad that Luke got 2 rides on Barnstormer and says a lot about how you're raising him that he didn't let the rope drop disappointment color his whole day. Go Luke!

All the mountains in one day. :worship::worship:

I am a big Pecos Bills fan too but those wheat buns... I'm already having a cheeseburger and fries... no need to try to be healthy.

I just love that you were able to experience Disney with your friends. So special!

Can't wait for return of the "kimodo." popcorn::

Hi guys, we got back from a week in New Jersey/New York last night, WHAT AN INCREDIBLE TRIP!!!! I will upload some pics to share with you.
We got to :
-See New York City (Lauren got her American Girl Doll), it was great spending time in the city and shopping around. We had pizza at John's pizzeria, it was wonderful
-Carlo's Bakery was AMAZING. The line was literally 2 blocks long at 8 a.m., LUCKILY I had called in an order ahead of time which allows you to bypass the line. We saw MARY in the store, I got a good picture of Lauren with her and we stalked the back alley and saw Danny from the show and got a picture of him as well. We enjoyed cupcakes, crumbcake, lobster tails (a favorite by all) and canoli's, SOOOO awesome, it was such a great experience.
-We went crabbing with Bryan one night, it was so much fun, we caught 5 crabs and enjoyed eating them that night
-Had a family get together with Bryan and Diane's family one day, it was nice meeting their families
-Diane and I went to the Cape May zoo and Cape May with Eric and Lauren when the boys went to the Yankee game, which they GOT TO SEE A-ROD HIT HIS 600th HOMERUN AT!!!! They were in HEAVEN!! I will post pics for you of that, they had the greatest time at the game and I just loved Cape May, what a beautiful town.
-We enjoyed a day on the beach, that was great
-We enjoyed a day on the boardwalk riding rides and playing games.
-We also went to Atlantic City for the day and ate at the Rainforest Cafe.
GREAT TRIP!!!!!:thumbsup2 I'll post pics soon guys and start working on the next Dis updates.
I was so excited yesterday when the podcast came out, our video submission was selected and they put it on their website and we get to pick a number from the prize matron, I'll let you know what we win. Here is the link to the video page if you want to see it (poor Luke was so shy on the camera, his personality doesn't come through, Tim's obviously does :rotfl2:):
http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-podcast/emailvideo.htm

Later guys!!!
-Lesley

Glad you got to go to Cape May; it is the most amazing place down the shore!

Loved the updates. Looking forward to the rest!

Looks like a great day at MK! Glad you got everything done you wanted to do.

Looks like you have some trip coming up! That is exciting. Looking forward to reading about your last night.

Just catching up after being on vacation last week. Looks like your trip to NJ/NYC was awesome ! What a great fun for yours and Diane's families.

Also, loved the Disney updates. Your dinners at the Japanese steakhouse and Jiko looked wonderful.

Looks like you had a good time with Luke and Lauren. It is important to spend family time but also to spend one on one time with your kids. I totally understand about teary eyed moments. It seems like they grow up overnight sometimes.:goodvibes

All caught up now.

So excited to hear that Tim and Luke were at the Yankee Game for A Rod's #600 Home Run. That will be a great memory for both of them. NYC is so much fun, with so much to do. It looks like you packed in a lot of fun on that trip.

Your last day at MK sure looks like it was fun filled. Not sure if it is just me, but look at the picture of the back of Lauren's head when she is heading onto BTMRR. Her curls are kinda forming a Hidden Mickey. Right at the top of her pony tail. Can you see that too? I give you a lot of credit for going to WDW in summer, the heat can really take a toll on the amount of time you can spend in the parks.

Great pictures throughout the TR, it always looks like you are all having a blast.:goodvibes

Whew! All caught up! I've been away from the Dis away enjoying summer. Great trip report! Love the pics! Lauren is adorable in her kimono. The bowing is so cute! You are very blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Can't wait for more!

What a great morning/afternoon! I've never seen the space Chip & Dale--I love the costumes! Luke's hat is great--and I love that he wanted to wear it for Toontown rope drop. Disney does gear so much towards the princesses. We don't have kids yet, but I'm sure we'll have to work a little extra to make sure that the boys don't feel left out. But it sounds like the 2nd Barnstormer ride made up for it! :thumbsup2 Your pictures of the kids and the whole fam with Mickey and Minnie are great! Hahahahah--I can't believe the Stepmom was a GUY! :rotfl: You know he was having a blast with that role. Your Splash pic is wonderful too--a great shot of your 2 families having fun together! Do they always take FPs if they're for another day? I'm guessing they don't even really look that closely. I wish we would have thought to try it on our trip last year!

I read your TR Leslie....so sweet! I can't believe how little Lauren looks/was...wub..wub ;). It's so funny...she still has that same, sweet smile.

What funny coincidences as I was reading it....I just turned 30 and we will celebrate our 10 year anniversary in 2 years! So I have to ask...did you guys end up taking a solo trip for your 10 year and staying at the GF??

DH and I are thinking about what we'd like to do...cruise..trip, etc. We'd LOVE to renew our vows at WDW but it's sooo expensive! So we thought of doing a solo trip...but honestly...I just don't know if I could go without my kids?! Don't get me wrong...we LOVE our time without them but I just think it would be really HARD to be in WDW without them...especially the MK...but the thought of being able to tour World Showcase with my hubby sounds dreamy:cloud9:

Great update!! That was great that you got to use fastpasses on a different day. I did not think they allowed that. Maybe because of summer crowds??

Dole Whip-Yumm!!!

That was too bad about the girls getting chosen to open Toontown & not the boys:confused3. They have so much for girls as it is. Glad you had 2 rides on Barnstormer.:thumbsup2
No, just a little secret about the FPs, depends on the CM. I know, they need more stuff for boys.

Awesome updates!! I actually had to read 3 of them to catch up!! lol
Glad you enjoyed them!

I totally agree with you about the boy thing!!! Poor Luke! But, I'm glad the 2 rides in a row on Barnstormer helped. :goodvibes

I love your story about him and Minnie when he was little! How adorable!!! I'm sure in many ways that moment feels like just yesterday.

And I have to ask, what all does your shirt say? I see "Respect your Mother, Honor your Mother" etc. Where did you get it? I like! :thumbsup2
It is a shirt Tim gave me for Mother's Day several years ago, I love that shirt! It says something like "respect your mother, honor your mother, protect your mother, love your mother, call your mother. , LOVE that shirt!
Yay for riding Barnstormer twice!!!
I wish I had a Dole Whip right now!
Me too!

Sounds like a great morning

Bummer on the princesses opening up Toon Town. I am so tired of girls getting everything

But glad he got to ride Barnstormers twice...that was cool at least

Their spin art came out nice at the pool

Forgot. I could totally see the Step mother was a dude ...that is freaky
Glad you enjoyed the update, I know, it was weird!

Hi tim and Lesley, I am way back in this trip report, I just read the part where Luke offered the boy any pin off of his lanyard for the pin that Lauren wanted. That was the sweetest thing ever and coming from such a young boy, he clearly loves his sister and is a true gentleman.

Lauren is a cute little girl and so full of life. I can't wait to have kids and take them to disney world.
Hi, thanks for the Luke compliment, he does love his sister : ) You will have a blast with your future kids in Disney!

AOhhh I can't wait for a Dole Whip.....

Great pictures....you captured every aspect of your day....love it
Dole whips............ yum!
Another GREAT update! our trip is nov 3-9
and we scored FREE dinning, long story but
got some pixie dust!! WOOHOO!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. We are there 11-14th, can't get free dining due to DVC but still a good deal.

Another great day! I think your TR has convinced me that I must try a Dole Whip
Yes, TRY ONE!

All caught up! I loved little miss Kimodo! so Cute! You got some fun character interaction at Epcot. I loved your laid back day to do whatever - we have to build more of those in. I didn't know they would honor FP from a previous day! Too Cool! I hope I can get DH to go along with that - he's a stickler for THE RULES~ I can't believe you are already on your last park day
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not a rule stickler : )

2 rope drops in one day! good for you! its too bad your son didnt get chosen though... at least he got to ride the barnstormer twice in a row!

Wow its great you got to use fastpasses for all the mountains at once even though they were from the other day!
Love rope drops. : )

Mmmmm! Love Dole Whip Floats!!!!
MMMMMMMMMM indeed!

What a great Magic Kingdom morning. I have never tried to use FP that were from a previous day. I am glad you got to ride all the mountains on your last day. That is great.
I'm happy we were able to as well, made for a great last day!

Less than a month until I'll be sipping on a Dole whip, I just can't wait, I love those things! Yours looked very yummy!

Terri
YUM! Enjoy!
Love the report-- I have been reading it all day! Can't wait to see the fast pass pics!
So glad you are enjoying it, thanks for reading/posting

mmmmmmDole Whip!!!

Have you worked the expired fast passes that way before? Crazy, I have actually thrown them away at the end of the night thinking they would be no good. :confused3
Yes, we've done it before : )

Sounds like you had a great MK day! Didn't realize you could use old FPs-will keep that in mind in the future. My husband and I are going on a spur of the moment trip in November. We are staying at SSR for the first time! We will be there the 11-15th. Can't wait! Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip.
It was a great day. We are there the 11-14th, if you see us say hello : )

Phew! All caught up!

Sounds like an awesome time in NY. If there is a place in this world that has more to do than Disney, it is NY. I never feel I have enough time there!

What a great idea to send the kids to the Kids Club and enjoy a nice meal at Jiko with Diane and Bryan. I agree with you...it is one of the best places on property. (Although California Grill is still my favourite.)

Funny that Goofy wasn't out to ride when you were there....he wasn't out in May when we were there either. Poor Luke...I bet he wld have been picked for sure with that hat!

So sad to hear your trip is coming to an end...can't wait to hear about your last evening meal. And as you say, there are plenty more Disney trips in your future!
Glad you are caught up, yes we had a great trip to NY with them and in Disney. I need to try California Grill. That's the first time we've been to rope drop in Toontown and Goofy wasn't there, oh well.

I was gone for a week and you went crazy with the posts! What a wonderful trip all the way around! It is always just so much fun to see your family enjoy each other and their activities so much. Yes, had to get them done, back to work for me tomorrow. Glad you enjoyed the updates. Tim did win the contest, thanks for your votes EVERYONE! : )

Woo hoo for riding all three mountains!!! What does Stacy call it -- The Triple Mountain Whammy!!!
Yes, Lauren is always dancing her way through life : )

i love your mickey mom shirt where did you find that? your report is great
Tim got it for me for Mother's day a few years ago in a Disney store. My FAVORITE shirt : )

Glad you are all caught up. We put them in for the first time when Lauren was 4 and Luke was 6, they LOVE it there, they actually beg to go all the time.

Wow, you guys were busy on your last full day! I loved this update. There was so much I wanted to comment on and I've already forgotten. Lauren is a character with that "strutting" photo of her from behind. And love the one of her and Tim holding hands.

Yeah, not a huge pecos bill fan either, but counterservice is counterservice. Kimodo coming up in the next update : )

Glad you got to go to Cape May; it is the most amazing place down the shore!

Loved the updates. Looking forward to the rest!
Cape May was just beautiful, I SO could live there :) Last update coming tonight.

Looks like a great day at MK! Glad you got everything done you wanted to do.

Looks like you have some trip coming up! That is exciting. Looking forward to reading about your last night.
We had a great day, seems like so long ago now. Last night update coming up tonight.

Just catching up after being on vacation last week. Looks like your trip to NJ/NYC was awesome ! What a great fun for yours and Diane's families.

Hope you had a great vacation, glad you enjoyed the updates. They do grow up overnight, can't believe how big they are getting!
All caught up now.

So excited to hear that Tim and Luke were at the Yankee Game for A Rod's #600 Home Run. That will be a great memory for both of them. NYC is so much fun, with so much to do. It looks like you packed in a lot of fun on that trip.

I was so excited they were there for his 600th, I kept telling them he was saving it for them ; ) That is funny about the hidden Mickey : ) I am glad you enjoyed it, yes, we do have a blast together.

Whew! All caught up! I've been away from the Dis away enjoying summer. Great trip report! Love the pics! Lauren is adorable in her kimono. The bowing is so cute! You are very blessed to have such a wonderful family!

It was a great morning, I had never seen Chip and Dale in those costumes either, that was cool. I couldn't believe he was a guy either, too funny! Yes, they typically do take them, I did it last year too.
What a great report! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I read your TR Leslie....so sweet! I can't believe how little Lauren looks/was...wub..wub ;). It's so funny...she still has that same, sweet smile.

Glad you found the old TR, yes, she is still my baby girl, just SO much bigger : ) No, but we are taking the Solo trip this year in November (airfare already booked) and staying at Beachclub, can't wait. I know, it is so expensive, I would love to do that too. I am already knowing I will miss the kids terribly when we go, but we are surprising them and going again in Feb. so that makes it easier : )

Awesome trip report
Thanks!

Well guys, here is our final update from our June trip (sniff). I had to get this done because tomorrow it's back to work for me (another sniff). Tim DID win the DJ contest on facebook so thanks to all of you who voted.

Final Night:

So, on our final night of our Disney World vacation we had a change of plans. Originally we were going to go to Tuttio Italia and then to Epcot but Diane and family were going to Magic Kingdom because they wanted to see the new parade and fireworks and we didn’t want to ditch our friends on our last night so we changed plans. Luckily Diane had a ressie for Kona she wasn’t going to be using that night so we “took” her reservation.
Lauren was excited that I allowed her to wear her Kimono to dinner. We drove over to the Poly, I took these of the kids as we waited for Tim parking the car:
IMG_7760800x600.jpg

IMG_7758800x600.jpg

We headed upstairs and checked in for dinner:
IMG_7762800x600.jpg

We had a little bit of tears at the start of this meal. I took Lauren to the restroom and Tim and Luke were seated. Since we had taken over Diane’s Reservation they had Luke down as an adult since she has 3 adults and 1 child on her dining plan. Luke was on cloud 9 being given the adults menu and Tim didn’t think about it and didn’t know he would take it so hard. He was devastated when I explained to him we didn’t have the credits for that. I love him because he was emotional because he was embarrassed for being so excited and felt bad that I felt bad for HIM, such a sweet boy. Anyway, I ended up splitting my meal with him so he could have a better option which he was thrilled about.
After our mini crisis we ordered drinks right away:
IMG_7764800x600.jpg

IMG_7765800x600.jpg

IMG_7766800x600.jpg

We orderd potstickers to share as an appetizer, they were YUMMY:
IMG_7767800x600.jpg

IMG_7768800x600.jpg

Lauren ordered the kids ravioli:
IMG_7770800x600.jpg

I had the yummy filet that Luke and I shared.
Our waitress on this night wasn’t on her A-game, she was just “o.k.” but the food was good and we had a pretty good meal.
Here was desert:
IMG_7773800x600.jpg

After our bellies were full we headed out to the monorail:
IMG_7774800x600.jpg

[COLOR=purple[/COLOR]
As we walked in people were already lining Main street for their parade spots and the CM’s were entertaining kids with Hula hoops, of course my kids jumped right in on that:
IMG_7779800x600.jpg

IMG_7780800x600.jpg

We met up with Diane and Bryan to ride Buzz one more time:
IMG_7783800x600.jpg

Tim and I rode together:
IMG_7785800x600.jpg

We headed over to our spot by Hall of Presidents for the parade, I took this great pic of Diane and Bryan:
IMG_7789800x600.jpg

My view of the castle from our spot:
IMG_7791800x600.jpg

The kids were thrilled there were more hula hoops back there:

IMG_7794800x600.jpg

The kids were hula hoopin’ fools:
IMG_7795800x600.jpg

IMG_7797800x600.jpg

It was starting to get darker and it was about to start:
IMG_7802800x600.jpg

The parade was AMAZING and we really enjoyed it, here are some pics I took:
IMG_7811800x600.jpg

IMG_7813800x600.jpg

IMG_7814800x600.jpg

IMG_7821800x600.jpg

IMG_7837800x600.jpg

IMG_7839800x600.jpg

IMG_7855800x600.jpg

The parade was wonderful. I was excited to see the fireworks again but wanted to move towards the front to get a good view of them. We tried to head that way but it was sooooo crowded on this night we could barely move let alone get a view of the castle, I would have been willing to stay and watch but it seemed everyone weren’t digging the crowds and I was informed we were leaving, so we headed to the monorail. I was bummed we didn’t get to see fireworks on our final night, but oh well.
We crammed into the crowded monorail to head back to the Poly for our car:
IMG_7866800x600.jpg

Luckily I could see a lot of the fireworks from the monorail so I enjoyed that. We spent the rest of the evening in Diane and Bryan’s room so the kids could play and we could share some farewell wine together. We said sad goodbyes and headed back to our room. The next morning we were up bright and early and drove home to Cincinnati (we ended up splitting the drive home into 2 days because Tim got a major migraine and needed to stop and the kids and I were happy to stop to break up the drive).
I hope you enjoyed our Trip, I will post one more update with all of our Photopass pics. Tim and I will return to the World in November for our FIRST couples trip without kids for Food and Wine Festival. We will be there when Osborne lights is going on and Christmas decorations are up so I am so excited about that. So……………. Stay tuned, another Timandlesley trip report will be right around the corner!
-Lesley
