Have a friend who just returned from FL yesterday. I just spoke to her about our upcoming trip, stating that I was taking my ds's to see the Tiki Birds. She said it was closed last week when they were at MK! I hadn't heard anything about any reason it would have been closed.

Has it been closed as far as any one knows?

The Tiki's are open. They are just not open the entire time. They have been opening at 10am (instead of 9am) and they close early, not sure the exact time, but they are not open until park closing. When you arrive you can pick up a Daily times guide which will tell you what the times are for the attractions that do not follow normal park operating hours. But yes, they are open.

They are open as far as I know. It's true that they don't stay open as long as the rest of that area. I used to work there, and we always had people thinking Tiki's were closed because the sign says "under new management" lol!

Hi all...

My little girl really wants to see the Tikis. I've never been for some reason or another. Is this show worth it?

To be honest, I'm kind of curious!!!

Yes, don't miss it. It is really a cute show. Not long. 10-15 minutes max
Great airconditioning.
It was up-dated a few years ago but the basic theme goes back to Walt Disney's fascination with audioanimatronics.
We just watched Mary Poppins with the kids last night and we noticed the scene where she is in the nursery with Jane and Michael, she (Mary Poppins) is singing and she goes over to the window and a robin in her nest joins in by whistling along with her. That movie came out in 1964.

This is so crazy. I remember very little from the trip to WDW when I was 5, but the mention of Tiki Birds just sparked a memory!

I am too excited now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:hyper:

My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter loved the Tiki Birds--enough that we went three times. Her mother still insists on calling it "The Turkey Birds".

We love the Tiki Birds. The show does get alittle loud in a couple of parts.

It's also a good place to cool off.

anyone know the words to the chorus that goes "in the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room"? my son sings it all the time, but those are the only words he can remember...

Keep in mind that I haven't seen The Tiki Birds in about 10 years, but doesn't that chorus go (or used to go):

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room...
the birds sing words and the flowers bloom....

Ummm, that's all I know. :p

"In the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room, in the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room, all the birds sing words and the flowers croon in the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room. Welcome to our tropical hideaway, you lucky people you. If we weren't in the show starting right away, we'd be in the audience too. In the....

I just saw them on Friday. It is one of my favorite shows, I think for nostalgic reasons. My DS would have passed if I had let him.
