My mother is hospitalized with atrial fibrillation too, Karen. They are giving her meds to get the beat back into a normal rhythm.

I'm saying a little prayer for Ross that medication will get him all fixed up soon.

What a scary day - I'm so sorry you and your DH have had to go through this. But keep your chin up - we know that Ross is going to be fine, right? He's healthy and, most of all, he's got you - and that's a lot to live for!

My own DH spent a night in ICU a few years ago with chest pains, shortness of breath, etc. I know how scary it can be at that moment that you have to go home without your husband. Lucky for us, it was only one night and he's strong as a bull today. Here's hoping the same happy outcome for you and Ross.

Hang in there, and know that all of us are sending all the good thoughts we have to you both.

Kath, you and your mother are in my prayers! I am sure she will be fine soon.

Ross is feeling better this morning. His heart rate is pretty much back to normal for him. He got into a room of his own around 11:30 last night. We think his heartbeat is regular too now, but he will find out from a doctor later this morning. The nurses say a cardiologist will be by to see him at some point, so we don't know when that will be. He seems in great spirits and is waiting for his breakfast! That's my Ross.

Thanks again! I was up really late last night but finally was able to sleep a bit. I really appreciate all your kind and caring messages. You guys are just the best. Who would have thought that reading messages on a Disney board would be able to bring so much comfort into one person's life.

I too , will remember you and your DH in my prayers! I'm happy to hear that he is feeling better this morning and hope the Dr.'s get there fast so you don't have to be in suspense for too long. I know it can be very stressful; when this situation comes around, so.... if you need help with ANYTHING at all, please let me know. I will do wahtever I can to ease any burden you may be feeling now. Remember you have lots of people here to support you!

Karen, How is Ross??

Ross came home yesterday afternoon. I didn't get back on the computer after that! He is feeling normal, great, happy, looking forward to exercising at lunch (no racquetball today though!) The cardiologist will see him next week for a stress test and to check his heart to make sure there are no blockages. The cardiologist says it's a mystery right now as to why Ross went into atrial fibrillation (however you spell it) but that his heart rate is normal, his BP is back to normal for Ross, and his heart is beating normally again, so he has the green light to continue with life as normal (even exercising)! Ross is happy to hear that news, and so am I. He will have to take an aspirin a day for now, and he is also taking some medication that begins with an A, some type of beta blocker (I need to do some research online later today about all this).

And after he sees the cardiologist he will need to see his regular primary care physician. So for now he's healthy and home and I am really happy about that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again for all the great support. I have read all these responses over and over and you guys are just so wonderful. And thanks for the PMs and e-mails too! I never could have imagined having so much support, and it means the world to me that all of you took the time to say a prayer and keep Ross in your thoughts. Thanks so much!!!!

Karen, I'm sorry I'm late reading this, I'm just happy that Ross is ok.
I haven't been around much lately, too many things going on at the same time, I have been lurking a bit , but not posting.
Again, I'm happy to see that Ross is OK, but please tell him not to ignore his heart. {{{{{hugs}}}}}
