I had a creep flash me one time when my son was with me. If I had been alone I would have kicked his butt but did not want to upset my son. Might have been the same with the mom. It is hard to judge what another might do in any given situation.

BTW, I always told my daughter that she was too old to sit on Santa's lap when it was more fun for him than for her. (smile)

You just never know what is in someone else's mind and that might be a good thing. From from what I understand most of these people are relatively harmless in that they do not intend or are even capable of doing any actual harm. They enjoy the thrill of getting away with something or causing fear. Not that I am an expert on people with these kind of problems though.

Whatever the outcome of this case it would be a sad day when the characters are afraid to interact with the guests at the park.

I tutor kids and even though I am a grandma I would never be alone in a room with one. I do hug, when they approach me and there is a witness. It is a sad thing.

Jeez, folks, isn't it a bit silly to get all worked up and argue with each other over this? The fact is, none of us will ever know what REALLY happened here. Someday a jury might get to actually look at all the evidence and hear witnesses testify about it and make a decision. To try and reach an intelligent opinion about what happened based upon some news reports and an incident report is futile. All we're really doing is exposing our own pre-conceived notions about Disney, cops, "bad moms" and pervs.

Just a few observations here....
I wish the media had covered the story about 'a WDW performer' not 'Tigger'. I just hate it when that happens...first Pluto is run over by a float and now Tigger is groping kids!!!

If, in fact, this man was groping a child and her mom, it wouldn't have to be a great contact. It's really more the 'idea' of the contact. So, all that extra padding on the hands of the costume wouldn't be an issue.
If, in fact, I was being touched by a character and my dd was on the other side, you bet I'd do something more immediate. Now, I understand the accidents happen. You can be brushed up against and take issue with it. I guess it would have to be a judgement call. As far as those other photos go, I can't say since I haven't seen them. I am sure that if there is something worth looking into, they will be. WDW can't have anyone with a less than great character (no pun intended) working for them. I have to trust that they will do the correct thing.

Do bad things happen at WDW? Sure they do. Does WDW employ people that maybe they shouldn't? Probably. But I think the majority of the cast members are terrific. As long as WDW reacts appropriatly that's all we can ask for.

Disney World is a mini 'real' world, albeit better maintained. LOL Just as in the 'real" world most people are wonderful and few are rotten with many more in between, DW is the same.

Synonymous, I am often called a conservative and I think as you do. We are like the blind men and the elephant, our perspective on the world depends on what part of the elephant we have touched. (smile) Being human, and not computers, we cannot help but be influenced by our life experiences.

I just hope that the situation has a clear cut ending, for everyone's sake.

Like others have said you never know how someone else or even yourself will react in any given situtation.

The previous posters remarks about santa claus reminded me of an incident this past year. I was with my 3 nieces and we went to see Santa. They all had there turn and then I wanted a picture of the 4 of us wit hSanta. Well Santa grabbed my butt and gave it a good squeeze.

Well I could not slap santa and call him a perv and ruin it for all the kids. Since I was alone with kids I did not say anthing. I returned to mall the next day and registered my complaint. As an adult female this do not scar me in anyway, but I did not think he was an appropriate choice for Santa. He was fired that day.

So even when I realized immediately that it was wrong I could not bring myself to ruin the illusion of Santa in front of the kids.

WTG, Cujo. You handled the situation just perfectly. No lawsuits involved or anything either. Sometimes they cannot be avoided but is best to try the civil way, in the beginning anyway. It just plain takes the wind out of their sails when they cannot get a reaction, fear, horror or whatever.

Too bad the national news jumped on this story with so few details as were broadcast in Orlando.

I suspect these people are just after money from Disney. I've worn these types of character costumes (not at Disney) and trust me, you make alot of movement with your hands, but you can't feel anything. It is very easy to slip in these costumes.

I dressed up as a childrens book character for a book fair last summer in one of these costumes and would have LOVED to have pics of me with some of the kids.
