Don't you think it came out that Oprah had cheated on Stedman sp? that she would lose some of her sponsors and followers
But read the link--Tiger isn't losing his. In fact, most of his sponsors have spoken out already--he's not losing them.

I believe in cases like this advertisers take a 'wait and see' attitude; they do not to be perceived as bing 'fickle'.
However, should Nike, etc, sense that the public is not responding well to Tiger's Trangressions, then they will quietly begin to drop him, explaining that they wish for future ads to go in a 'new direction' with new faces.
It took them two years to let him come back TWO YEARS!!NEW YORK -- Michael Vick is back with Nike two years after the company severed ties over the quarterback's involvement in a dogfighting ring.

I personally don't think michael vick should have get a endorsement ever!!! That a different story for a different day

Edit: BTW... I'm not a dog owner, but I think what Michael Vick did was disgusting. Not child molester disgusting, but on a different level. (some people wish he were in jail for life over this, but that's ridiculous). However, the man did his time. Still, I will have a hard time looking at Nike for products for my family. I'll probably forget in a few years though. lol
and i was so disappointed. I was so suprised to see that they were taking up for tiger??? WTH??? They were calling it spousal abuse....saying that if a man had done that to his wife, he would be in jail, but b/c it was a woman nothing happened...
Ok, i am not an abusive person, BUT, if i found out that my husband was cheating....lets say i would fly off the handle also....What do you guys think??
I think "spousal abuse" and this cant be compared??!!
First of all, I'd be disappointed to if I had to watch Nancy Grace. God, she's awful.
Second of all, HECK YEAH it's abuse. Beating the crap out of somebody no matter which sex is doing the beating is abuse. Are you serious? It's ok for a woman to put the beatdown on a man? What if your best friend cheated on her husband. Does he have the right to beat the hell out of her?
I agree with this.Michael Vick went to jail.
Kobe Bryant was accused of rape.
Ray Lewis was accused of murder.
Tiger Woods slept around.
BIG DIFFERENCE THERE. Yes, it's wrong but it's not criminal. He just has a hard time keeping his britches up when he's not on the green. What he did sucks, but it's not the same as what those other guys did, whether ya like it or not.
His biggest fault was being stupid. It doesn't mean that he is mean-spirited.
Infidelity is not against the law.Swimming superstar Michael Phelps lost an endorsement deal with Kellogg's after photos surfaced on the Internet of him sucking on a bong at a college party. Other sponsors, including Visa, Speedo and watch company Omega stood by the swimmer, after he came out with a quick apology. His action was illegal
When Kobe Bryant was accused of raping a woman in a Colorado hotel, he beat the charges but lost millions in endorsements. Bryant had signed a $45 million deal with Nike just before his 2003 arrest, but the sneaker giant benched him for two years until the incident blew over. McDonald's and Nutella dumped the Laker guard altogether. By 2007, Bryant was pulling in $16 million a year in endorsements and this year, the figure climbed to $45 million, according to Forbes. He was accused of a felony
Michael Vick made $7 million in endorsements in 2005, ranking him 33rd on Forbes' list of celebrity pitchers. But when he was busted for dogfighting charges, the endorsements disappeared. He's back in the NFL, playing second string for a fraction of his old salary and the only deals he has are public service announcements for the ASPCA. His actions were illegal
I agree that it is a bit silly to demand a source for the statement that Tiger has a reputation for morals and values that advertisers have heretofore loved. What? Is the person expecting a site to Jesus.com? Who would be an acceptable source to cite on morals and values?
I agree that the best source has been the advertisers themselves, whom would not have retained Tiger to advertise their products if he did not have an excellent public reputation.
Dating from his youth Tiger Wood has built a reputation for being very much a family-orientated person, with a very close relationship with his father. The press created very sympathetic coverage of Tigers grief when Earl Woods died. Tiger has been very active in charitable organizations.
We have had other excellent athletes over the years that never had much in the way of endorsements, because the public perceived them as being crummy on a personal level.
As to whether Tiger will keep his endorsements, I believe he will. For one, he has not committed a crime, and the public tends to be forgiving of those whom admit their personal failings.
Secondly, some will probably excuse any transgressions by explaining that when Earl died Tiger lost his moral compass and will applaud his efforts to properly get his moral bearings back (Im afraid that before all is said and done his wife will be made the villain; such is life in the public eye; I have no doubt she will be amply compensated for taking on such a role).
I know its abuse...Maybe im not saying it right...I just think that she found out and blew her top....I dont think she should go to jail for that incident. again, if i found out my dh cheated, i would probably slap him too....
