Tiffins or tusker house

Boma is one of our favorite restaurants and we had heard TH was similar. We went three weeks ago and won’t ever go back. The food was just okay, the service was not. We compared it to 1900 park fare or chef mickeys with a few surprise dishes, but not enough to make us want to go Back Haven’t done Tiffins a long time and the other comments here don’t sound great either.
Pick the one that is most appealing to you. Enjoy your trip!

Tiffins has a nice menu, relaxing yet eye opening decor, and excellent service. Not quite as "exotic" as Jiko and that is said with an appreciation of both eateries. We've only eaten there for lunch thus far and despite not dressing specifically for the meal we were made to feel comfortable. I seem to recall that at least the 1st time we went there was as a walk in but could be wrong; I know it was pretty late in the day so for us the meal sufficed as an early dinner. Once we ate there with a tween and the other time with the tween and her slightly younger cousin; both meals were enjoyed by the children and adults. I can readily have an adults only meal here.

As we're not big fans of most buffet restaurants (bring on the carbs!) we haven't eaten at Tusker House nor have much interest in doing so.

Enjoy your meal wherever you have it.

We did both on our last trip. Tiffins took well over 2 hours. The food was good, but did not blow me away. The characters at Tusker House were great and the food was better than any other character buffet we have tried. However if it were just my husband and me, we probably wouldn't go to Tusker House. If we didn't have the kids with us, I would probably hop a bus over to AKL. We would go to Boma if we wanted a buffet and Jiko if we wanted the signature experience.

We went to both Tiffins and Tusker on our last trip in June. I recommend Tiffins since you are all adults - they have beautiful art in all of the dining rooms, and since you are a large party they may seat you at one of the spacious booths. Tusker is more casual, with a buffet that may please picky eaters and kids better than Tiffins. I also recommend a drink before dinner at the adjacent Nomad Lounge - the bartenders there really make you feel welcome, and it is a cool, quiet place to spend time after a day in the park.
