I'm surprised by some of the new Tier 1's. Living with the Land in particular. Oddly, I managed through ignorance to cash in on the glitch today and got Soarin and TT on 2 Epcot days, but was left Living with The Land just because it saved us backtracking.

DHS doesn't bother me because we aren't really fussed about TSM, but we did have GMR which luckily I left. It was letting me change it - perhaps because it is now Tier 1 and therefore in the same category as TSM? I didn't go through with it because we really did want GMR. I should have checked the DIS first :rotfl:

Agreed, this is just another way for WDW to control people's choices yet again. When has LWTL ever been much more than a 30 min wait if that? I know it sort of rides on the coattails of Soarin ("hey its right here, lets go look at 9 pound lemons" - which were not on mine :( ) but GMR?! We walked onto it on the busiest HS day I've seen outside of T-giving week in 2005, admittedly early in the day, but in between our FP time just to have something to do. This ride hasn't been updated since it started. There is no justification for a Tier1 on this, except that if TSMM and RnRc are booked out, they can now allocate people on to this ride instead.

Sheesh, these changes are strange. All I can see is that it's deliberately trying to shift the crowds around and create demand for what they want. Tiers are lame, ditch em. Thankfully, things like Turtle Talk haven't been snatched up for Tier1 or there would be no hope for EP in my mind.

:sad1:

Unfortunately for us the damage was done a while back and even though I benefited from the glitch today, we have already made our plans and sadly, having formerly been a park we spent a lot of time at, was plugged into this year's itinerary in the form of half/part days. Given that changing anything now would impact on everything else for the trip, it's too late.

After reading this thread, I went to change my Living with the Land fastpass to Maelstrom. We love LwtL, but we've never needed a fastpass for it so I thought I'd change. It would only let me change LWTL with another tier 1 attraction though. I already have Soarin that day, but it let me pick up Test Track in exchange for LWTL. I also was able to snag RnRC by exchanging out GMR. I already had TSMM. Excited about the glitch that's happening and hoping they all end up working. :cool1:

Basically the glitch worked to your advantage if you had something that was a Tier 2 that was just changed to a Tier 1 (e.g. Living with the Land). In this scenario you could change it to another Tier 1, even though you already had a Tier 1. For instance, I had the following:
Test Track
Mission: SPACE
Living with the Land

After they just changed Living with the Land to a Tier 1, it let me change it to Soarin' so now I have:
Test Track
Mission: SPACE
Soarin'

Finger crossed that they let me keep them. :)

I booked mine this morning for Epcot. If I try to change my Tier 2 Character Spot, I don't see Maelstrom as an option...
If I go to a day where I haven't booked any FP+'s (offsite), I don;t see Maelstrom in either the Tier 1 or Tier 2 options.

I just don't understand what crazy person decided that Livin with the land was a Tier 1 attraction :confused3

While its a nice enough ride (great for cooling off and relaxing)... Ive never seen it with more than a few minute wait... (besides the rare Soarin shutdown or something of that nature)...

I just changed all of my Epcot FP and I got soarin and TT one day with maelstrom and one with spaceship earth. But when I tried to change studios I could only get tsmm or rnr not both. But hey I will take it. That means we don't have to do rd the morning after harambe nights. Big bonus.

Thinking less devious than some of you, I see this as potentially a good thing. Moving GMR and LWTL to Tier 1 puts a slow ride that everyone can ride as an option in Tier 1. For example, my 75 year old mother wouldn't do Soarin' or TT, or RnR, or TSMM. She would do Maelstrom but that was about her limit. This move gives those type of people a ride they can pick as their Tier 1 and not just Shows or M&G.

I agree. I also think crowd distribution is probably the biggest reason for the change. And the blessing/curse of this system is that things can be changed with the push of a button based on crowd patterns.

My senior mother used a wheel chair all day at EP on a busy Sat. We didn't book any FP her, she got to go on Nemo & Turtle Talk, she skipped Soarin, we did SE, EO, they did LWTL (no FP) and Ellen, and then they went to showcase. Mom didn't have one FP booked to her name. She didn't need one either.

That's what's going back to this idea that LWTL doesn't really need one either (nor did SE, and while we had one for Nemo, it was only a 10 min line anyway so basically wasted.)

None of these subtier attractions even needed fast passes. They WANT people to feel like they have to book something. I wonder if O CANADA will show up next.

I was able to change my LWTL to TT. Now I have TT and Soarin on the same day. I know it is a glitch but I hope it works out this once! We are only doing Epcot in the evening on this short trip so there was no way we were going to ride TT and now we can. :cool1: I printed out a screenshot so hopefully there will be no issues.

I don't understand making LWTL as a Tier 1 unless it is a crowd control thing. Too many people make Soarin and LWTL FP+ back to back and it causes a mess?? We love LWTL so I hope it doesn't get too long of a line.

It just let me change my GMR FP+ to RnR when we already have TSMM. Yes, I am totally taking advantage of this glitch and I am feeling slightly guilty.
