subscribing. I hope to make a few in a few weeks once we move. I want to have them for our trip in Dec.
They are all so cool looking.

Welcome Pixiedustmom! You have sometime, and if you have any questions just let me know, I'll be happy to help you.

I am so loving this thread. I've always wanted to try tie-dyeing and this seems like the perfect excuse to give it a try.

My BFFs and I are going to Disney World in October to celebrate my 31st, so I'm going to make myself a special shirt for the day!:cheer2:

Yup! There you have your excuse ;) . Have fun tie dyeing. :yay:

I am going to cheat a little since my two attempts didn't go well. I found Tulip brand has a spray. I am going to tie dye the shirt then cut out a stencil of the Mickey head and then spray it on. It is supposed to work just like the dye. First I have to perfect my tie dying. I am getting to much white. I am soaking my shirts now, so tonight I will be able to dye them. I am leaving for WDW Sunday so I am on a time crunch. If they turn out well I will post them!:banana::banana:

Thanks PixieDust for the great photos and tips! I got a tie dye kit and a shirt from Walmart today! Even more exciting than that was that were there picking up material for my costume for MNSSHP, but that's another story. :cutie:

I am a bit worried about the kit I got. It says it does not require soaking. Should I soak it anyway?

Also, the kit only has three colors. Should I stick with one for the mouse head and the other two for the rest of the shirt? I want to make sure the mouse head stands out!

I am thinking this shirt will, at worst, be a trial run and I'll use some others.

Walmart has some cute 100% organic cotton tanks for cheap!

Awesome!

About the soaking, i know tulip has some kits that tells you not to worry about the soaking but i always do it regarless, if you can buy the soda ash I will recommend to use it. I tried dry and it didn't work for me. You can do that, use one color for the ears and use the other 2 for the rest if you want the ears to stand out more, that would be fine.
If you are making only one shirt and if you want the colors to be more intense, don't fill the bottle to the top, and shake it very well, use warm water, not hot, just warm. Then let them sit for 24 hours in plastic, you results would be much better.

About the shirts, indeed, wal mart has very good quality of cotton shirts for less compared to other retail stores.

Have fun and let us know how it goes.
