I know this thread is OLD, but I am posting so I can subscribe and won't lose it.

I've read about 50 pages of the thread, and in the next few days I hope to read the rest of it.
DH and I are going to the World in 3 weeks, and I have decided to make a couple sets of these shirts for us. Today I put in a big order with Dharma, and as soon as it arrives, I'll be starting this project. I ordered the starter kit that supposed to make 20 shirts (I know it won't do nearly that many), some extra bottles, extra soda ash, textile wash, and a few extra dyes: deep orange, bright green, grape and better black.
I have done a fair amount of tie-dye in the past, but always with the Tulip Kits in the past. I've done shirts a bunch for my kids, but mostly I do fabric yardage in a wide width and use the resulting fun fabric as quilt backs

The Tulip usually ends up more pastel-y, so I am hoping that the Dharma fiber reactive dyes will result in brighter colors.
I've just got to find the mickey head image and print that out, then I'll be ready to go as soon as my goody box arrives.
