Tie Dye Instructions for Spiral Mickey Shirt

All of the posted pictures on this thread inspired me to tie dye shirts for our group of 15 going for Spring Break. I worked on them pretty much all day...can't wait to see the results tomorrow afternoon. I'll be posting pics if they turn out OK. Thanks to all who have given directions, tips, etc. :goodvibes

a few more pics for more inspiration.....

All of my 15 shirts, ranging from size 2T to a 2XL, came out great. I am blinging 14 of them (we only have one little boy on this trip). I'll post pics of the completed project later, but for now here is one that is ready:

That looks great! What kind of bling did you use?

Thanks, Kelli :goodvibes
I used 4mm round faceted rhinestones. They are plastic and come in little bags with 144 pcs. I picked them up at my local craft store and I'm attaching them with fabric glue.

Thanks, Elisa! If our shirts turn out halfway decent, I might put some bling on them too

Hi everybody! Just wanted to share my latest designs....

Happy St. Patric's day Polo.

Tank top.

I made this tank top for a friend but I got too much white on it, I was worried that too much dye would messed up the design I had in mind so i didn't apply lot of dye. I love the way it looks but it bothers me so I going to re do it.

Too cute!!! I love the idea of using a polo!!! Thanks for the inspiration! I'm going to Universal next month and would like some design for the tie dye--like the Mickey Head. I might be kicked out of the park if I showed up with anything Disney--Universal has let our band know that there is to be NO Disney music in any way, shape or form!! (Maybe I should do hidden Mickey's??):goodvibes

Cool!
You're welcome. Really? Well universal should be glad that Disney visitors go to their parks too, haha. Hidding Mickey sounds fun too!

Here are our tie-dye shirts we made for our trip last October. Red for the girls, blue for the guys. Had to use the bleach pen technique since Mickey's head wasn't too well defined otherwise. Lots of compliments at the parks!

Thank you!

I'm placing an order with Dharma--what are the exact colors that you've used in the pics in your signature? And which black do you have the best luck with (I guess that makes the truest black?) So many have blue or green tints to them and the colors on Dharma say that this particular black isn't meant for tie-dying. Thanks for your input! :goodvibes You have such great looking shirts! :worship:

Hi, the black i use is called "NEW black" from dharma. The colors on my syggy are the primary, fuchsia red, turquoise and lemon yellow.

On the Dharma main page, go to DYES, then TIE DYE, and you'll see the list of colors.
