I haven't read through this entire thread, so I'm sorry if this has already been asked. How do you get the nice white outline around your Mickey head??

I do that after the shirt is washed and dried, you mean the thin line like on the shirts above? I used bleach pen.

Our whole family is leaving on Friday for a 7day Western and we have wanted to do these tees since we saw them more than a year ago. There are 10 of us and I bought the supplies yesterday. I am going back to Michael's today to get some different tees for us girls.. The tees I bought were fitted and are too small. I like what I got our guys...just a 3 pack at Michael's. So in a few hours we will start our project. I hope they turn out. Our married children are coming out to our house....we live kinda OUT...so we can all do this together. We are so excited. I will post back tomorrow and tell how the tees went....maybe even post pictures if one of my kiddos, or husband will help. I don't know how to do that :)

Well there are 9 of us going to Disney and going to be doing tie dye!!

Question....I know there are two threads...I was curious what the difference is when you said wanting to do a spriral Mickey? I have a lot to read throught :goodvibes

So do both threads kind of show the same technique....deciding if I need to read both threads and don't want to get confused.

9 shirts - WHEW..I think we will be practicing with one!

Ok, Thanks to CojoChurch & Disneyeveryyear there is a wonderful post with pictures for those of us that are less fortunate in the design ability area. For those of you who want those tie dye instructions they can be found here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=928135

However, my DH patiently read those directions and decided that while totally awesome he wanted a spiral tie dye design complete with Mickey Head. So, I took many many pictures of the process and agreed to post them out here so others could use if wanted.

The first few steps followed the other thread completely.
Step 1, Trace Mickey on plain white 100% Cotton Shirt

We just finished and are leaving them wrapped till tomorrow. I am worried that we may have soaked the mickey heads with too much, but I guess we can use a clorox pen to outline if we need to. We did not spiral because one DDIL said it was hard to saturate that way. We just banded down from the muickey head about every 2 inches or so. There are good instructions in the Jacqaurd brand box.

Make sure they are 100% cotton, the 50/50 blend its not good for tie dye.

Hope everything goes super and let us know.... Have fun

We did use 100% cotton...and they turned out GREAT!! I only had to use the clorox pen for one tee. It was such fun!

So I guess we should return them huh....does the 50/50 not work very well as it doesn't absorb the color.[

Hey girls...okay I need to find some adult sized plain white hoodies for an fast upcoming project. Anyone know where to look? Would prefer something cheap, but at this point I'd take anything.

Thanks!

The colors would look pastels. You can use them but they would look kind of faded.
