Looking to buy 2-6 day passes for our July 27th-Aug 4th trip. Is it best just to go ahead and purchase them through the disney website? I have looked at a couple of other places but by the time you pay for the shipping or other charges it only saves a couple of dollars on each ticket. Just thinking about getting them from disney to be easier. What does everyone else do??? Thanks

We wait to see if there are any specials that will show up between now and our(maybe not) trip in August. We see no rush to buy at regular prices..we watch for any price increases.

Do you or anyone in your family work for a larger company with employee discount perks? My DH works for a large company that did not advertise it, but they belonged to Wild at Work. You should check and see if your company is listed. I have purchased tickets from them a couple of times now, and it's just like buying from Disney. You print them off and take them straight to the turnstile. I've saved $10-$20 per ticket from them. If you're a SoCal resident, you can get discounted AP's from them also.

I do agree though, I would wait until closer to the time. Especially with all the new stuff this summer, who knows what marketing has planned. Just watch for price increases around August.

HTH's!

I always buy directly from Disney - that way I know everything is legit and I feel that I have recourse if I don't receive the tickets or if I lose them (it happens to the best of us). That security is worth the extra few bucks for me.

I feel like the deals right now are pretty good, but I agree that if you are not going until the summer, you could wait and see what new promos come out. But do pay attention to price increases - there is usually buzz beforehand so you can pull the trigger before it happens if you pay attention.

Where are you planning on staying during your visit? There may end up being a hotel/tickets package promo, so don't forget about that avenue as well.

You don't have to pay for those things in bold. You can use the e-ticket, it gets emailed to you. You print it out and take it strait to the gates. It gets scanned at the turnstyle and they give you regular Park Hoppers in exchange.

Like Black Jack mentioned, watch for ticket price increases. This may come before summer and the internet will probably know 10-5 days before. So you can buy then and beat the increase.

This won't be help for the OP but maybe to other people regarding ticket prices going up. I was at the grocery store yesterday and looked at the gift cards. They have 3 day hoppers for sale for the current gate price that are good all the way through 2012. So if ticket prices rise, which is almost a sure bet sometime in 2012, this could be a cheap option if they are still in stock. In this store's case, they had more for age 3-9 than kids in the county's elemetary schools, so it's nearly a guarantee they will have plenty on the shelf is this becomes a bargain.

I've done both, and would base what I did on my arrival. Last May, we arrived the evening before around 6 PM. We ordered from getawaytoday. So, we leisurely headed to the ticket booths after checking in at our hotel, picked up our tickets for the next day and spent some time shopping in DTD. We ended up upgrading to APs, and did get to keep our small ($4/ticket) discount.

In November, my parents went with us. We left after I got off of work and arrived at 11 PM on a Wednesday night. I knew I didn't want to spend the next morning at the ticket booths, so I pre-bought tickets for them at the Disney Store.

In December, my sister went with. Once again, we headed out after I go off work, so I bought her eTicket from Disneyland.com right before we headed out the door.

So, if you're going to have time to head to the ticket booths (without it being right before rope drop), you may want to purchase from a third party (such as getawaytoday or arestravel). If you're headed in for opening right away, go with the Disneyland.com eTicket (or the hard plastic tickets at pre-purchase prices).

Ski I think the OP was saying that they looked at other discount ticket sites but after shipping and fees, they ended up only being a few dollars less than buying them from Disney outright.

OP, I also only ever buy directly from Disneyland.com, and recommend you do the same :) Since you're going later in the summer, I do think there's a chance that ticket prices may increase before then. If you think you'll be diligent and check back to this site to hear rumors of price increases, then you can wait, but if you want to just be done with it, you might want to just buy now to avoid any possible increase.

Thank you! I just discovered that DH's employer is enrolled. 3 day park hoppers are $189, so not a huge savings over the current deal but we need 3 and $30 not spent on tickets is $30 for something else! Awesome tip. :)

Yes, thank you! DHs employer is on there too!!! Anyone know if they're upgradeable or not? I'd assume so, but want to make sure.

I'm so glad it helped a couple of folks!

When I used them, the email printoff looked exactly like the one you get directly from Disney. I have not tried to upgrade them though, but hear that the price you paid is encoded in the bar code on them. I'm thinking that you can upgrade them, but you will only get what you paid for them. Not 100% sure on that though.

They have good prices on other places also, I've used them quite a bit and have always been happy.

They have 4 or 5 day hopper tickets. The 5 day ones are $220 for adult and $196 for child. We can save $37 if we buy 2 adult and 1 child 5 day park hopper tickets here vs the deal on the Disneyland site. Not too shabby.

FYI - They also off Sea World tickets at at $20 off.

Yes that was what I was trying to say.

We will be getting APs with the monthly payment for the 6 of us. I wanted to get 3 day PHs to start off so we get a MM so this will save us some upfront money. Also I ended up booking Portofino through them for cheaper than their especial rate. $103/nt for the kids suite the week before xmas!!

We bought a package through Disney for our upcoming trip looks like we will be there the same time. Our dates are July 27 - August 3! We are going for my daughters 3rd birthday!
I just felt better booking it now so I know that it is out of the way and I do not have to stress about looking on-line all the time for price changes!:cool1:

We are going around the same time!!! My mom and I went last summer for the first time (we ususally go to WDW) and had so much fun we just had to go back. Going to wait a little longer on my tickets. Everything else is booked. :)
