Hi there...we are most likely going to be making a trip to DW next year..most likely in July. Need to use some of my parent's points before we lose them..long story...anyway a few questions:

1) Right now we are thinking of staying at BWV in a studio...we have stayed here before in a 1 bedroom and loved the location. We have 100 points to use and for our family of 4 (2 boys ages 12 & 7) we can do 7 days/6 nights at a studio here with standard view....or we can do OKW. Any opinions either way.

2) Can we get our park tickets through DVC...most likely would do a park hopper for at least 6 days. Is there a discount through DVC?

3) Can we add the meal plan if we wanted? Not sure if we do...but since the studio has only a fridge, microwave and toaster not much cooking options.

4) Has anyone done a grocery delivery they could recommend? Would probably only be for some breakfast, juice, snack options..not sure if this makes sense or can we rent a car for just the day of arrival to make a grocery run and then return on site at Disney..is this possible?

Thanks!!!!!

1) BWV standard will be hard to get right now in July. Good luck OKW is a good backup

2)Park Tickets can be bought when you get down .Only Discount right now is to an AP.

3) you can have the meal plan added but you must do it before you arrive then pay at check-in

4) We rent a car for the first few days . Now we are renting them at a DTD hotel location so we can take advantage of DME and only rent for the days we need .

They do have places that deliver as well but we have never used them.

Standard view is tough, you may want to get that reserved NOW and wait list anything that's not available. Those units usually book up pretty close to 11 months out for higher demand times like summer. If you opt for a car, I'd go with OKW.

The DDP will work well with the studio but it will still be a little cramped for 4. The 12 y/o will be charged as an adult for the DDP. I can't say much about grocery deliver but with the DDP, you likely won't need it. If you opt not to do the DDP, you have several options but none perfect for this situation. Rental car, taxi, deliver service and the like. If you're doing the ME from the airport, a taxi is likely your best option if groceries are all you need. Remember the resorts have a pretty good convenience store type selection. The best value might be to take a bus from DD into the Disney Village as far as you can get then walk to Goodings and take a taxi back. Have the phone number with you and call them when you're close to being finished. Another option I've done a couple of times is to make arrangement with a DVC member who has a car to pick up groceries or hitch a ride, I was glad to help out a fellow member when the opportunity presented itself. I suspect DIS will allow you to post that request but you may want to check to be certain.

For pack tickets for 6 days you'll likely do best with the MYW tickets with the park hopping option added if you need that. I doubt it's worth paying for the non expiring option for a 10 day ticket for future use but you want want to run the numbers. An AP might also be a good choice if you can get another trip in within a year after your visit next summer.

My parents' home resort is Beach Club...so I thought I couldn't book until 7 months out for non home resorts...is that correct?

Yes thats correct.

We were just saying that the Standard views go fast and may not be avail. at the 7 month mark.

I just switched my June trip to BCV right at the 7 month mark as no BWV standard view was avail but everything else was.

If you want SV call day by day when the 7 month window opens up and wait list day by day if anything is not available. I'd book the same unit type at BCV now then cancel each day as you get it at BWV so that you'll have a place to stay one way or another.

Our family usually goes the week before Christmas, and this year is no exception. Last year, however, we found that we WERE ABLE to buy extra days on a regular base ticket to enable "park-hopping" on a couple of the days. We actually had purchased 5-day base tickets when we arrrived at our Disney Resort, OKW. My husband and I found ourselves back in the hotel lobby about 3pm after spending the earlier part of the second day of our visit at Animal Kingdom. We were talking about how we would love to spend the evening in EPCOT, and the hotel concierge overheard us. One hour later, we had upgraded our tickets for only $4 each to 7-day base tickets and were headed to France for dinner! We used the other extra day to visit MK and MGM both on the last day we were there.

Magic Your Way Passes came out in 2004, and that was only last December (2005), so has Disney really changed it since then? We leave for 6 nights at SSR in three weeks (16th), so I would like to be sure before we buy our tickets this time. I actually called DVC twice in the last two weeks, and got two different answers. The first CS rep said that it could still be done (and even recommended it), and then today I called the OKW front desk and they said that it could not be done (and did not believe that we had gotten them the year before!). Who knows for sure?

Thanks!!!!

we have used Garden Grocer for our grocery order. Very convenient!! They come right to your room. Some of the resorts have a small area that you can actually pick up a few items such as milk pizza, ice cream etc. Some resorts also have a actual grocery service within the resort itself. I would recommend using garden grocer though. You can pay them cash when you recieve your order to which is nice.

In a studio you'll have a rather small fridge and a microwave. Don't overdo the grocery order.

I just booked a Standard View at the eleven month window for Food and Wine and was told I got the last one left - that was right at the eleven month window - I didn't bother to book day by day. They are only about 20% of the resort and very popular with people who own BWVs - so they often book very quickly.
