There is a sports bar called Evergreen with typical sports bar fare. Being from Buffalo - I can vouch for the wings. The onion rings are good, too. Prices at Evergreen are more than fair - like eating out in 1995!

There is another full-service restaurant at SoG, which I can't recall the name of - but it is very good! The prices are much less than comparable restaurants at WDW, but I recall a varied menu, good daily specials, and very yummy food.

Also - you can get WDW merchandise & SoG merchandise at the equivalent to a small PX gift store.

No, Frank - no SoG discount for the Fort.

While you can buy Disney merchandise at the PX, there is no WDW merchandise. The PX is treated like any of the other off site stores in the area, and there is no merchandise that says Walt Disney World on it. I did buy a nifty baseball hat with Mickey on it that says Army on it last year.

Evergreens is my favorite place for lunch after a round of golf. Great burgers and the price is reasonable.

Agree with above on the ease of the walk and bus/shuttle options. Actually its only .35 miles from SOG to the road (give or take per google earth) and what looks to be about .5 miles total to Poly monorail.

Going to MK we'd walk to skip the TTC transfer with the SOG bus. With hour intervals on the SOG AK/HS bus if we didn't catch those we'd walk to/from Poly using its buses. Coming back from MK we got tired of getting stuck on the monorail, and dealing with crowds at park close so we'd brave the cold, take the boat across the lake and hike it. I'll admit that end of the day stroll was tiring especially since once you got to SOG there is still a ways to go til you get to the room but again, worth it to us. Probably wouldn't do it with younger kids not in strollers but elsewise shouldn't be a problem.

I just read the ticket information. It is only through the end of September. 2009 was for the entire year. Do you think they will extend either tickets or rooms?
