Tickets for meet and greet with characters

Good morning,

I got tickets for the princess gathering and for the Frozen meet and greet. But do you need tickets to take your picture with Mickey, Minnie, etc. Or you just have to go in line?

I'll have to go to guest service when we embark to fix a few things so if I have to request tickets I would take care of that as well.

Your navigator will list the times that each character will be available to meet. You just get in line for those characters. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Chip n' Dale will have times each day that you can meet them throughout your cruise.

Thank you. I've done 2 DCL cruises but I never really bothered taking pictures with them. My mother in law is obsessed with characters and absolutely want pictures with all of them! I have to do my homeworks. LOL

Princess gathering and Frozen are ticketed events because they are generally very popular and it allows people to not spend forever in lines to meet with them. It also allows a bit more interactivity with them!

If I recall correctly, you could start lining up for the ones advertised in the Navigator about 5 minutes before the posted time. In some cases this let you get a bit of a jump on the line, in other cases, it just guaranteed you 5 minutes in line. When the scheduled time for a meeting (with Mickey, for example) ends, they will close the line, but if you are already in line, you will get to see the character.

Some lines are WAY longer than others. Also, check on the navigator App and you can see if the same character comes again later in the cruise. Often the earlier days have longer lines, so if the line is long, you might just wait for the next time with that character. On the other hand, many of the characters have multiple costumes, pirates costume, formal costume, etc. So your Mother-in-law might wish to get more than one picture with certain characters.

Also, sometimes the characters walk around unscheduled. You'd think they would be mobbed, but often they are not. Some of our best character interactions on the ship came during this "walk around" times that we just stumbled upon.
