Tickets at a Disney store

I just returned from a local Disney store in a mall. I wanted to buy my WDW tickets before our trip in two weeks. I'm not looking for any deals because I'm not convinced there are any for what I'm looking for. The only discounts I'm finding are like $3-4 a ticket, and that's hardly worth the agita and risk of having them lost in the mail!

I wanted to get base tickets, but I had also considered the Water Park & Fun add-on. But that would depend on the weather forecast...I'm not doing water park if it's under 70 degrees! And I don't think I wanted to do more than 1 day at Disney Quest.

So, my plan was to buy the base ticket at the Disney store, and then upgrade the WP&F option when we arrived if the weather was cooperating. (Good weather means DQ plus a water park, and an add-on makes sense. Cool temps means only DQ, and an add-on is wasting money.)

At the store they told me I couldn't upgrade or add on to anything purchased at the store...

Is that true??

you can't at the store, but you should be able to at the parks

We bought our tickets at our local Disney store a few weeks ago...only added benefits were we got cool collectors tins and they offered a coupon book (which they were currently out of, but we didnt mind).

We got park hoppers and I do remember they stressed to us that the tickets were nonrefundable. We didnt ask about upgrades. Either way, I'm sure you can buy tickets to the water parks separately when you get there. They can't be too much more $$ to get separately, can they? We've actually never done the water parks, so I"m not sure.

Actually, admission to the Water Parks is about $37 for adults and the cost to add the Water Parks and more option is $50 per adult ticket. If you plan to go to the Water Parks more than once or if you also plan to go to Disney Quest, it would be cheaper to upgrade to the Water Parks and more option than to buy a 1 day ticket for the Water park.

I decided to upgrade to the Water Parks and more option for our 6 day tickets and received 6 water park and more options.
