I called and renewed our Sorcerer AP's that expired on 11/16/24. On MDE, it says "activate by 11/16/25." But on the website, it states "Expires 11/16/25."

Will I need to go to Guest Services and activate the AP's before entering the turnstiles? I hope not, because the morning we are going we will be on a tight schedule and I'd rather not get up earlier and waste time at Guest Services.

Are these DVC Sorcerer APs? If so and you renewed over the phone, yes, unfortunately, you'll have to go to GR and show photo ID for each person age 18+ confirming that they live at the same address as the DVC owner. You can do this at any GR, including the GR or the Official Ticket Center at Disney Springs or the GR outside any park including water parks. If you arrive early enough the day before, you can go that day - it won't change the renewal date of the APs.

The "expires 11/16/25" means that if you don't activate them by that date, they cease to be AP vouchers and instead become $ credits that can be applied to the purchase of another AP or a different ticket.

Yes, DVC Sorcerer Passes. We won't arrive until Midnight the night before so it won't be possible to go before.

I was hoping since it was a renewal, I wouldn't have to go through the whole process again... I guess we will be getting up earlier :guilty:

Can it be done at a ticket window just in case GR has a long line?

Maybe - I think I remember buying APs at the AK ticket window, but that was many years ago. So hopefully one of the very knowledgeable people who follow this thread will come help!

The other wrench is that in claiming Tuesday Nov. 19 as the first day of our ticket, the total was slightly less money than entering our first park on Wednesday (maybe by a dollar?) If we decide we don't even want to enter a park until Wednesday, what happens to the difference in ticket price?
Nothing will happen other than you have a park entry day to use later in the week — which isn’t even really anything since you plan to upgrade to AP.

So if I purchase a one day MK ticket from undercover tourist for Dec 31...am i guaranteed entry/re entry to magic kingdom if it reaches capacity. Disney website is no longer selling this ticket...so am wondering of undercover ticket is legit 🤔

I think that UT and the other authorized resellers buy a number of tickets from Disney and then resell them, so it’s possible for them to have certain tickets that Disney is sold out of.

The tickets are legit. With a 1-day MK ticket you are guaranteed entry, but maybe not re-entry. It’s been since pre-covid that NYE crowds were maxed, but even then it was strongly recommended that once you enter a park to remain in the park. If you leave and return during a phased closure it’s possible you may have to wait to re-enter. I don’t know that we can rely on “phased closures” using the same phases as pre-covid.

Can someone help with this.

Is Epcot sold out NYE? I can't buy a 1 day ticket there, but if I buy a package with hotel, it doesn't require me to pick a park, so then I can get in?

I thought reservations were needed anymore?

That is correct. At this time, WDW is not selling 1-day tickets for MK or EPCOT for 12/31. However UT is still selling 1-day tickets for that date; presumably they pre-bought a certain number that they haven't fully sold yet. WDW is still selling multi-day tickets (with or without a resort package) which allow admission to EPCOT on 12/31 if the park has not reached capacity.

Theme park reservations are not necessary for dated tickets, 1-day or multi-day, but are needed for non-dated tickets such as comps and annual passes and older non-dated tickets. Theme park reservations are also not available 12/31 for non-dated theme park tickets with or without a resort stay, though Incredi-pass reservations are currently still available.

Exactly how WDW is determining capacity for selling tickets and/or allowing theme park reservations is unknown. It is quite possible at least MK and probably EPCOT will reach capacity that day with some level of closure.

Great, so if I buy a package, I can get in if it doesn't reach capacity.

Thanks for the help

Hi all... I would say we are generally Disney Veterans. We own a lot of DVC points, go to DisneyWorld at least once a year and Cruise... But this December we have an odd combination that we haven't had before and I'm hoping you all can help clear up our question.

We have our family (four adults), each with the top Annual Passes (no blackouts) and we're staying at Saratoga Springs using our DVC points. We have two of our kids adult friends joining us (on the reservation) and we purchased 7 day park hoppers for them.

We're going to Disney Dec 27th - Jan 3rd. What I can't seem to understand is... do any of us need "park reservations"? It seems like maybe the AP holders do? But that seems kinda crazy if we're all on Disney Hotel (DVC) reservations staying on site. If the AP do, do the other two (with Park Hoppers) need them as well?

Thanks for your help!

Yes your AP ticket holders are required to have a Park reservation for each park day. If you 2 guests with Park Hoppers are the newer date based tickets then they don't need Park reservations.

If you don't want to bother with making a Park reservation for your AP holders then you can only enter the parks at 2 PM or later.

ETA: add details on after 2 PM entry...

We are WDW vets but have never done any of the parties. We are arriving early Dec. with 3 day PHs plus the party ticket, with no plans to do a park on the day of the party. So when we arrive for the party around 4:00 pm or so and scan our bands, does the system know to use the party ticket and not the regular PH ticket?

TIA!

There will be an entrance just for those attending the party which will only look for party tickets.

Following up on my prior question. We have AP's... the Incredi-pass. We are staying at Saratoga using our DVC points for 7 days. When I go to make park reservations... it allows 5 but then says

"Park reservation limit has been reached".

However, when I read the Disney page on reservations it says
  • Annual Passholders staying at Disney Resort hotels or other select hotels are eligible to make theme park reservations for each day of their Resort stay(s). This is in addition to holding their maximum number of theme park reservations at a time on a rolling basis.
I do have my resort stay linked... It's showing in My disney experience and my plans. it looks like the reservation system isn't recognizing my resort stay and it's limiting me/us to the 5 reservations my AP allows. Has anyone else run into this? Any alternative to calling Disney and waiting on hold forever to get sorted out?

I'll answer my own question.... When you go to make the reservation.. make sure you click the button that says you are an AP WITH a resort reservation.... That's where I make the mistake...

tbh though... I'm making the reservation from mydisneyexperience... with people registered to an AP and linked to the resort reservation... The system SHOULD know that's what i'm doing... but it is what it is....

99.9% sure I know the answer based on previous posts, but I’ll check anyway: a Disney employee friend gave me 2 one day park hopper complimentary tickets. These cannot be upgraded to multi-day passes, correct?

Correct. Comp passes cannot be upgraded to any other type of ticket and have no cash value.
