Ticket upgrade with free dining??

I just booked a trip for Feb 25- Mar 4, room only, We were planning on purchasing annual passes when we got there. I just received a free dining pin for that time frame. I know you have to purchase park tickets in order to get the free dining promotion. Once I get there, can those park tickets be upgraded to annual passes or would that remove the free dining?

2- Nope.

And, if you buy these tickets now, you can make advance FP+ reservations for your trip.

(I'd buy enough "days" on the tickets to cover your entire trip.
You'll "get back" whatever you spend on the tickets when you upgrade to the AP's.)

Thanks!! I've changed my reservations, ordered magic bands, ordered extra magical express tags... as soon as hubby gets home we will do fast pass + and add a few more dinner reservations!!

You can't combine the room-only discount and the free dining deal though. So I'm not sure you can do what you're saying...

I don't see where the OP, scotas, mentioned a room-only discount.

The question actually regards buying the minimum park tickets in order to get the free dining package, so the "room only" would no longer be part of the deal at that point, anyway.

I opted for free dining as opposed to the original room only which was 25% I prefer the meal plan primarily because its easier but was still wanted the annual pass for my fall (and maybe a Christmas) trip. Adding it up I actually save more this way, at least for my husband and I.
