Ticket Upgrade Questions

Hi Everyone,

We had to cancel a trip to WDW last December because of illness. We had purchased two adult 5-day park hopper tickets separately from the resort reservations...so we still have those tickets, purchased in Sept 2015.

The good news is that we've rescheduled our visit and can stay a little longer. :) I'd like to upgrade our existing tickets to 8-day park hoppers. Is there a way to do this *prior* to getting to the park? When I called Guest Services, the rep only had two suggestions -- buy new 3-day park hoppers now or wait till we get to the resort and see if they *could* upgrade them. She said Guest Services couldn't do this, and she seemed unsure whether it was even possible at the resort.

Here's my first question: Is she right -- GS can't upgrade a ticket? My second question is -- Is there a way to upgrade these tickets without buying new tickets and without waiting until we arrive to add days? We're staying onsite at Polynesian, and I'd like to take advantage of the 60-day Fastness+ window and I'd definitely prefer not to have to add three more days to our trip by buying all new tickets. :)

Any suggestions? Thank you!

Guest Services AT the park is the place to go.

Enter the park. After that point, when you get a free half hour (overestimating time) go to GS/Relations and have them upgrade it.

Sounds like you bought it directly through WDW, without a package. So I *think* that these tickets won't get to be bridged to the current price, so I *think* the difference is going to be taking what you paid compared to what the current cost of the 8 day ticket is now.

I get that you want to do this for FP+ purposes, but there's really no way to do it ahead of time.

I was expecting to pay the difference between our old 5-day ticket prices and the new 8-day prices...but I was just....hoping to do it sooner! :)

Thanks very much for a really great explanation of what I needed to know. My husband is convinced this is a sign we need to take a 3-day cruise in the middle of our trip. :)
