I pre purchased 7, 8 day park hopper plus water tickets 2 months ago for our fall trip. I received them in the mail a short time later.

Is it possible to exchange theae tickets for new tickets so i can get free dining?

An exchange probably wouldn't get you what you want. Based on your post, I am inferring that this was a ticket-only purchase, but the free dining is part of a whole WDW package (includes ticket, hotel, etc.). You could always save those tickets for a future date and book a package for the dining.

If you just bought the ticket, you might end up ahead anyway. To take advantage of free dining, you have to forego any discounts on your hotel room. Meanwhile, the rooms can be heavily discounted during Free Dining, so depending on how you eat many people find they save a lot more money by ditching the dining and sticking to the discounted room rate.

no in order to get free dining if they have it you will have to purchase tickets as part of the package.

We get the military discount on room so i booked the discounted room and dining plan then paid disney seperately for the tickets. I did the math and we would save money by exchaning the tickets and losing the room discount for the free.dining. we are 7 adults, no kids

Tickets are non-refundable. But you can call and ask.

Yep Disney doesn't refund tickets especially if they were not purchased direct from Disney. But 9/10 free dining isn't the best discount. Unless it's 4 Disney adults in a value room and then perhaps it is.

On another thread you mentioned having a split stay. If you want FD on both stays you will have to purchase 2 sets of tickets for each person because each resort is a separate reservation. For last year's public offer everyone 3 years and older had to purchase a minimum of 2 day tickets with either Parkhopper or Water Parks and More add on.

Currently doing a split stay at 2 deluxes. I would like to do 1 deluxe the whole time with free dining. If not, i can go down to moderate, buy a 2 day PH for everyobe and then use our 8 day tickets on the side which would save a lot of money but ideally i would like to stay at a deluxe. If i cant get disney to exchange my current tickets to buy the package togetherx deluxe would be off the table

You can save the 2 day tickets that FD requires for another trip in the future and use the 8 day tickets you already have.

Thats an interesting idea. Would i just unlink the 2 day tickets online and then relink the 8 day tickets?

You can assign any new, unused ticket to one or more "phantom name(s)" that you can create in your MDE account.
That way, those tickets won't be accidentally used UNTIL you transfer them back to your REAL names when you are ready to use or upgrade them.
