You will be fine doing that - you don't have to use your tickets to get in to DTD, only the theme parks, so it won't count as a days use! :goodvibes

Sonya is right. We opt to go to DTD on our first night too so that we can rather use our park tickets on our departure day (or last full day if we stay an extra day).

If your flight departs in the evening when you leave you will probably get more use out of your ticket on your last day than you will the day you arrive. I will make a suggestion however, based on past experience (for better and worse :rolleyes1). If you use your departure day as a park day, get up extra early, make sure you are packed, check out of your room and take your luggage to Guest Relations to store for you. I cannot begin to describe the pressure we put on ourselves this year by deciding to race back and check out. The wheels came off, to say the least ..... :headache:

we have downtown disney check in with virgin so im not sure how early i can check in but our flight doesnt leave until 7.45pm so would rather do that i think !

We always do DTD check in - it opens at 8.15. If you get there for that time or there-abouts you still have a whole day in the parks ahead of you! Its what we always do. A long morning in a park, late lunch at Beaches n Cream, a last quick look around DTD (grabbing an EoS for on the plane!), then head to the airport!
