Ticket question...opinions please

It now looks like my DS will be able to take leave and join us for our trip. YEA!!!!! But we do have some decisions to make and quick since our fast pass window is opening soon. Our first thought was to not add him to the hotel reservation until we check in so that he does not have to use the DDP. This also gives him an extra 30 days to save for food. It just hit me though that if he does this he will not be able to book fast passes until the 30 day mark. Add to the confusion there are two other families traveling with us for 5 days in the middle of our trip.

So my question is would you go ahead and add him to the reservation to ensure we all get the same fast passes, or would you just buy tickets for now and try to add him as best you could at 30 days? He could afford it both ways but adding him now would definitely cut into his weekend fun. What is the likelihood that we can match up our fast passes 30 days apart?

If you're staying on site and have him on your friends and family list you can select FP's for him as well at 60 days even though he's not on the reservation.

If just one person is on site, others on their friends and family list can select FP's at 60 days as well

If you're staying on site and have him on your friends and family list you can select FP's for him as well at 60 days even though he's not on the reservation.

If just one person is on site, others on their friends and family list can select FP's at 60 days as well

Ohhhh my that would totally solve the problem. He is on the list and on most of our ADRs. But he does have to have a ticket tied to his name correct.

I had hoped he would, but unfortunately the closest base where he could get tickets is 2 hours away and not opened on the weekends. He will not have a day off before our fast pass window opens. But the savings according to him is only about $40. We had also checked about a military discount package, but there isn't any savings there since we would have to stay at a deluxe. Last minute is so not my style!

are you meaning that there are no military discounted rooms left at the values and mods? becuase there are military rates for all hotels

He can have them mailed to you for a fee - i am not sure what the cost is since we just pick them up - he can call shades of green or Camp Pendleton in CA for the tickets

Yes only deluxe rooms left with a military discount. Which I'm sure if we had known earlier we could have used that but oh well. As far as the tickets I have given him all the info, but he wants to just do it through the Disney site so...but THANKS so much for all of the info!!!!!

Yes you could select FP's for him when you do 60 days out but yes, he'd have to have tickets connected to his MDE account
