Just saw the news release on OrlandoSentinel.com that Disney is raising their base ticket by $4 to $67 on Sunday, August 6th. I confirmed this also by looking at www.mapleleaftickets.com

** Just read on another site the Annual Pass is going up ~$21 to $462 **

:earseek: Thanks for sharing! I am glad that my upcoming trip is paid off. Now I would encourage anyone who has the money to make their ticket purchases this weekend! ::yes::

Are all tickets going up? Annual passes and MYW tickets?

Here's a snippet from the article (bold my own):
Disney officials did not say what is prompting the $4 increase -- which also affects prices across the board in the company's "Magic Your Way" flexible ticket plans -- except to say the new price is in line with the needs of the travel industry.

Very little notice as usual. It's surprising to see them raise prices again so soon, but it's still well worth the price.

This is sudden. Too sudden for us. We don't have enough $ to buy them right now. So I guess we'll pay an extra $4. (Is that per ticket, per day?)

Per day, for the one-day tickets.

If you already have a trip booked, but not paid off, will your price increase? Or does it stay at the quoted price?

If the admission was part of the quoted package price, then they'll honor that price.

I was planning on investing in a non-expiration hoppere pass for DH and me. We make the passes last for several visits. THANK YOU for letting us know! I just went to MapleLeafTickets.com and purchased what I needed today. You saved me some $$$!

2 price increases in one year isnt good. But Disney is worth the price of admission. So does that mean multi-day tickets will go up around $4, or pbbly more?

I wonder if the ticket prices will go up again at the start of the new year??

I'm kinds disappointed that the ticket prices will increase for the 2nd time in one year.

For no particular reason I decided to go ahead and purchase tickets for our October trip earlier this week. I really should have waited until I go back to work in a few weeks but just felt like buying them! I had no idea that a price increase was coming. But even a few dollars saved helps! :woohoo:

Well they are pricing the middle class people out slowly. With gas prices thru the roof and electric due to jump thru the roof come January No one is going to be able to afford to go anywhere. Our salary sure don't go up as much as inflation which by the way is not 2-1/2 percent it is more like 7-10 percent when figture all the cost and people out of work and no longer able to collect un-employment.

To look on the bright side, maybe this is kind of a confirmation that the new 2007 packages will indeed come out this Sunday, like the rumors are saying!!!

Allearsnet is reporting that the cost of the park hopper option is increasing from $40 to $45. The AP increases from $441.98 to $462.21 and the PAP increases from $574.05 to $595.36.

WOW :faint:

I wonder how Walt Disney would feel about all this? Slowly but surely Disney is becoming just like any other corporation in the world....all profit orientated. When I first started going it felt special.....but the gloss is fading rapidly.

I'm glad I took my kids 10 years ago and that we had those special times....I'm not sure my kids will feel that way when their kids are around.

Walt was not at ALL opposed to PROFITS LOL! One of his biggest fights with his brother was over Walt selling rights to Disney characters in a deal that directly benefited Walt and not the company. Roy felt that this was not ethical as it deprived the company and stockholders of cash. Walt Disney was a great man, but not a saint..

And Disney also feels the crunch of higher fuel costs. (Those buses don't run on pixie dust) Those costs have to be passed on to someone.
