Ticket prices rising?

I did the math and it looks like I'll save $47 total by buying the 5 day ticket on UT then upgrading it before the price increase. Not a huge amount but enough to be worth the hassle.

So I guess my only question now is the most important one- is the ticket upgradable right away once I link it to my MDE account?

You would have to wait until you get to Disney to do the upgrade (and you should use the ticket to enter a park first so the price will be bridged). The downside to your plan is you will only be able to make FP+ reservations for five days of your trip since you'll have a five-day ticket.

thanks am planning on going in August but not
ready to buy my tickets. Was going to probably buy them
in June. Hope it doesn't go up before then

Are you planning to stay on property and buy tickets? If so, you can book now and lock in the prices with a $200 deposit. Balance is not due until 45 days prior to arrival. It would allow you to get the prices locked with minimal investment. Just a thought.

Up until last year, I though most of the increases were in June and July. Let's hope they go back to that and give people a little more time to get decisions made.:goodvibes

Thank you so much for the info! I think I will go ahead and just buy the 6 day ticket. Not being able to upgrade until we get there and missing out on making the FP+ reservations wouldn't be worth it I don't think.

This is my first time buying from UT because we've always booked packages with Disney before that included tickets, but this next trip we are staying in the campground and since they never offer discounts of any kind with the campsites I figure I might as well save a few bucks where I can on the tickets.

we are not staying on property

You can't upgrade to add the day until you are at Disney. So you will only be able to make advance FP reservations for the number of days on your ticket when you link it to MDE.

OOPS, missed the other answers that already said this to ruthie12! (New board learning curve or something.)
