Ticket Prices Increasing June 12th!

I bought our 6 day park hoppers last night and checked this morning at the new price they now exp on 10/11. Didn't the old price exp 12/11? I didn't even pay attention tp the exp dates until today, our trip isn't until middle of October. My email invoice doens't show an exp on the tickets, I choose to have them mailed.

There are now two sections of tickets on the website. The Special Offer promo tickets are good thru 10/1/11 and pretty much are the pre-increase pricing. The regular tickets are below that. They list both the hoppers and one park per day tickets, have the increased pricing, and are good through the end of next year, 12/31/2012.

I wonder what type of tickets I actually bought this morning from Last Minute Travel. :confused3

Yesterday the bonus hopper tickets had an exp of Dec 201, I think. I didn't notice until today the new pricing of bonus tickets have an exp of Oct 2011. I hope I saw an exp of Dec 2011 and I wasn't seeing things!!!

The Disney website right now can be confusing... the top selection is for the " promo rate" which expires in Oct but it's the same as the regular rate below that expires in December... so i can see lot of folks being confused.

anyone know if you do the payment plan is your pass valid from the day you purchase and start the payment plan or the first time you actually go to disney? still super excited about this option and glad it wasn't a typo and lasted all day on the site lol.... i remember when they first launched the payment plan option it didn't state specifically who it was for so they honored anyone who did get it even if you were not so cal.

Well after much going back and forth on Saturday I bought a 6 day hopper ticket at the $216 price. I got an e-ticket and it states that it's good until 01/13/2012.

I had really debated over upgrading to the Premier Passport but I had bought my WDW annual pass at a discounted DVC rate of $412 last year so the upgrade would be a lot especially with the increase of price. My friend who will be going out to DL with me in August had already purchased her Premier Passport so she'll be able to get the discounts on food so I think I should be good.:thumbsup2

Saturday evening I watched a movie then planned to go to bed. Instead, I decided to browse the Internet for a few minutes and read the forums here. Sure glad I did! I didn't know anything about the price increase until I read it about it on here. Since I have a trip planned for end of November I immediately jumped on the Disney website and purchased two 5-day park hoppers.

Just in the nick of time! :yay: I finished the transaction at 11:57 PM pacific time. I refreshed my browser a few minutes later and sure enough the 5-day price went from $211-> $246. So I was able to save $70 on tickets for my wife and myself thanks to the DIS message board!

So that change happened suddenly...and drastically. :headache: Crazy that you can now buy single day-single park and two day-one park per day tickets online. I guess that means no more two-fers anymore for Southern California residents. Makes me happy that I did decide to shell out the money for the 3 day park hopper for So Cal Residents instead of just paying for one day with my aunt and then waiting until my mom came down to visit me to pay for a second day (two one day-one park tickets would now cost more than the discounted pass).

I really hope that it never reaches $100 for a single day-single park ticket. :scared1: :faint:

I just bought 2 Deluxe passes I love that there is a payment plan now. For the person that asked there are no fees or finance charges and it can be paid in full at any time. It goes into effect the first day of use not the date of purchase. It also does state it expires 12/31/11. This works fine for us as we will be using it next week. I did have a question though. We are staying onsite and plan to use MM on Thursday this will also be out first day at the park. Will I need to go to get the annual pass as soon as we enter the park? I was hoping to wait until later as I want to take full advantage of the MM and early park hours. What are we given once they scan the e-ticket annual pass?

OMG...I am VERY grateful for sheer LUCK today. My best friend flew in from Texas on Friday night and we decided to go to Disneyland on Saturday to renew our AP's (they expired in January, so we were both itching to go ASAP). I didn't know that the prices were going up, so we just managed to miss the price increase by a day!

Had we decided to go Sunday instead of Saturday, we would have each paid $500 (ok...$499) for the PAP's instead of the $449 that we managed to lock in.

Heart attack avoided!

As I understand it, you'll need to be processed at the AP center in one of the parks before you leave the park; but not necessarily right away. Go ahead and enjoy your MM, then wander over to the AP processing center at your leisure.

I just found out about the price increase and I looked on the forum for an answer to this question, but I didn't see it. We are going to WDW over Thanksgiving and have already booked a MYW package with 10 day PH through Disney using a PIN code that was emailed to us for a discount on the room. I have only paid a deposit so far. My questions are will the cost of the trip now increase due to the ticket increase? Also, we were considering changing the reservation to a room only and purchasing annual passes. Should I still change the reservation to a room only and buy the passes or keep the MYW package and upgrade when we're at the parks? And to upgrade, will we pay the difference between the new price of the 10 day PH and the AP or the old price of the 10 day PH that we already booked and the new price of the AP? Again, I'm sorry if this was already answered. Any help or advise would be appreciated. We have never purchased APs before so this is all new for me.

One more thing... this may be a stupid question, but I see people talking about taking advantage of MM. What is that???

You are posting this question on the DisneyLAND side of the Dis, and Magic Mornings (MM) is a DisneyLAND perk, so you might want to ask over on the WDW boards of the Dis. :goodvibes

Wow. We just got the APs we renewed on 6/11 in the mail today. Now i don't have to worry about them arriving before we leave on our trip next. Now I just have to worry about being blocked out on a Saturday even through our Premier AP is still valid. -- Suzanne

The next recession is really going to hurt Disney! Almost like a squirrel storing up nuts before the winter the way they are approaching pricing lately. If historical patterns are correct we are due for another one in 2012 - 2013 at the latest. There is nothing new under the sun......just history we haven't read about.....Glad our trip is this year and at the relatively lower price point..

Hi!
We purchased 6-day passes before the price increase.
After, we realized that our hotel rate was a preferred AP rate...so we will be wanting to upgrade one of the 6-day passes to a Deluxe AP.
What will be the cost difference that we will have to pay?
I assume we will get credit for what we actually paid for the pass and have to pay the difference on the current price for the AP.
(It would be nice if we got to pay the diff based on what the AP cost was when we purchased, but I doubt we will be so fortunate!)

Thanks for any input!

You are correct in your guess.

Current price of deluxe AP - price you paid for pass being upgraded = amount due

Thank you so much for your reply, Dreams.
I really didn't expect it to be any other way....
It's still worth the difference to get the savings on the hotel rate, plus the in-park discounts on meals, etc.

Can't wait!!

Bought the AP before the price increase back in June. Used the pass this Sunday for the first time. Thought the pass won't expire until one year after first use. But expiration on pass show one year after the date of purchase...which is June 2012...

I'm so mad...i lost 2+ months!!! :headache:

Then why purchase tickets online ahead of time???
