Ticket Prices Going Up 2/12/17 ~ New Pricing Page 8>>>

But that per day cost, really isn't the one that matters. It's the cumulative total that matters. And that cumulative total is a $200 (10%) increase. Which is a big increase. Trying to whittle it down really doesn't change that, so it's pretty pointless to do so.

If you can't afford/justify the price increase make your point (once) and move on. There is enough negativity in the world these days don't ruin it for those of us who have saved and are looking forward to our holidays and come here for information we need to plan accordingly. There is no fairy godmother out there who is going to swoop in and grant your wish.

I have a 10 day PH as part of a package... which I plan to upgrade to an AP. Looks like the ticket went to $48 or $49 but the AP only went up $30... so it will actually cost less to upgrade than anticipated? Woohoo!

That kind of thing has happened in some past price increases.

So disappointed. We were up debating the AP/no AP issue until 11:55 last night and we finally decided to take the plunge. When we did and logged on, the site was down and when it came back up, the APs were up $30/day, and we need two. Add to that, we were expecting the 13 month deal that friends/family assured us of to make it for or trip this year and our honeymoon next year. Apparently that deal is over too.
Just a fail all around. :guilty:

That stinks about the cost difference. The 13 month deal has been over for a while, though.

Suggestion: buy the ticket with the biggest discount from a reseller, today, and then upgrade when you get to a park. Chances are you'll get more than your $30 back.

Take your own advice why don't you. Walk a few steps in my shoes some day, so you can actually try to understand why this is such a big deal to me.

I bought 2 10 day hoppers yesterday from OTC for $903 (one adult, one child). I priced it today on MDE, and the cost came to $1,075.66 after tax. Savings of $172.66 by purchasing yesterday from OTC vs. Disney today...
That's insane - an almost $200 increase.

It's a discussion board, a board to discuss matters of interest to people here. Some people discuss one side of an issue, others discuss another side of an issue. Discussing is back and forth, not necessarily a once and done. No reason for somebody to 'move on' if it does not fit your side of an issue. Maybe somebody else should move on if it does not meet their criteria.

It is helpful to me, since he is telling me the per day per person cost. That's what I need to know to figure my trip cost, and it works for everybody who wants to use it. Everyone has different trip lengths and people in their group.

Robo is a messenger only, and a very helpful one at that. No need to get angry at him. :(

Thank you Robo, ravenclawtrekkie, hiroMYhero & the many other members on this board for their years of very helpful tips, information and answering any question I have had over the years! I have saved so much $$$ on our Disney Trips over the years because of you! I bought a couple of 4 +3 day tickets from UT at $418 last night before this new price increase! I wouldn't have known about it otherwise if it weren't for you guys! So A Big Thank You To You All!!!!

That's insane - an almost $200 increase.

Note that the numbers compared were actually from a DISCOUNTER and the new FULL PRICE number.

That doesn't reflect the actual Disney price increase (which will be a lower number.)

I'll say again that I dislike any price increase, but I'm trying to make sure we are
focusing on the real numbers for comparison.

Sorry, to me it came across as an attempt to down play it, like a $200 increase isn't a big deal. Which again, might be easy for someone else to say, but to us, it is. For us the day by day breakdown is not the one that matters. It's total cost. But if that's not how he meant it, then my apologies to @Robo. And if a day by day breakdown helps you, well then, great.

Overall, seeing as how our trip has potentially just been yanked out from under us, I'm feeling pretty disappointed and frustrated right now. It would help if Disney could get their communication straight across the board for the Canadian ticket issue. People are still getting mixed messages. :(

On that note, why on earth would they not make sure that the new terms/conditions are clearly communicated to everyone?

Nuts.... I have been busy with non Disney family visiting and missed the warning messages. Our AP's expire March 1st. I was planning on renewing later this week on our first park visit after our guests leave.

In response to the increase I think we will drop our FL resident AP down from platinum to gold. We had been sneaking one or two early morning Christmas holiday visits in with our Platinum pass but we can let that go. We had discussed saving the money but the increase just made it an easier decision. I don't have the old numbers but I suspect the result will be less revenue to Disney from us the year.

It looks like on Undercover tourist they are selling tickets still at the 2016 prices. Should I buy through there? This is for travel Feb/March 2018.

You need to look at as many authorized ticket sellers as you can, so you can choose the best deal on the kind of tickets that you want.
Undercovertourist.com is a good company.
There are also others.
Keep an eye out as ticket supplies at different places will run out at different rates.

I look at it as a total increase over the 10 days of tickets. $210 more for me if I had gone with Disney to buy them vs UT(like $160 Disney yesterday to Disney today). $210 pays for at least 2 dinners while there.

Robo help:)....a question about annual passes. I am also in the camp that I was going to renew and just did not get to it last night. At the renewal website it still says that the passes are good for 13 consecutive months. When I did a chat with a Disney cast member yesterday she said that that the 13 month special is still going on through September. Did I get incorrect information? THANK YOU!
