Ticket price question..

I am not sure if this is the right thread for this question, but does anyone know if in the past, when Disney raised their ticket prices did they announce the increase prior to them going up or do they just hit you with the increase? I read on another forum that price increases are generally in the spring/summer. I have not purchased tickets yet because I have been waiting (like lots of others) to see what the fall promotion will be but if there is a price increase planned I would likely purchase mine prior to the increase. I do not know if there was any rumor or if someone just had a question about increases but I figured if anyone knew the answer it would be a Dis'er, so that is why I asked here. I certainly hope they do NOT plan to increase the prices (with the economy being so crazy) but with Universal going up due to Harry Potter I wasn't sure if Disney would do so itself.

usually in august. word has it a 1 day pass will increase to $83 this august
