Ticket Options - what am I missing?

Looking to spend 2 days at the parks, one park per day with Lightning Lane.
The three possible days we can attend are Tier 1, Tier 3, and Tier 6. Definitely planning on Tier 1 for our first day.

I priced it out with a 2-day ticket vs two one-day tickets, and in all cases the two one-day tickets are less. Is there any reason not to buy them as 1-day tickets?

Do prices go up as the date gets closer? When do I need to decide by?

If it is cheaper to do the 1-day tickets I'd buy those now and lock in the price and reservations. I think once the prices are published they don't change EXCEPT when they do an across the board price increase which has been happening in October the last few years. So not much downside to buying asap but if you wait too long it might be more expensive.
