Ticket Lanyards at Wal-Mart

I was recently looking for just the ticket holder without the lanyard for when I go on water rides. I could not find them without the lanyards in the parks. Turns out Wal-Mart has them in the travel section with the lanyards for only 97 cents. The cord is plain black. They have some other good items the travel area if anyone is looking for budget alternatives to standard park items.

This is great news! I have a "reel" that clips to your clothes that I use at work...was planning on using the reel that but needed a new plastic holder. Now I know to look for these next time I'm at "Wally World."

My only question is...when you say the "travel section" do you mean with the luggage?

Thanks again for posting this! :dance3:

Aren't the tickets plastic and thus you do not need to protect them from water?

The lanyard they gave us at EE grand opening for AP holders didn't have a zip-lock at the top and was much thinner than the ones I ordered through an ebay store. Without the closure I would be worried about contents getting wet or falling out on RRC.

I found them in the office section when I bought them for our April cruise. Go figure :confused3

I was just talking about these today at lunch with dh. And I have to make a returt to WalMart anyway, so I'll take the opportunity to look for them.

Thanks for the info.

This is fantastic information! We didn't have lanyards on our last trip. We had to pull out our KTW cards at each ride. :sad2: Boy did we learn our lesson. I'm thrilled to learn that I can purchase these before our next trip...and at a more reasonable price than what I would pay in the parks. Thanks! :goodvibes

In the local Wal-Mart the lanyards are with the luggage. I have seen them in another Wal-Mart next to men's hats at the edge of the menswear section.

The ticket holders themselves are very thick plastic with the plastic zip lock at the top. Only problem with these is that the lanyard holes are through the plastic. Since I did not want to use the lanyard I just used a bit of tape to plug the holes. I then put it in a zip lock back as extra protection from rides like Kali River Rapids, Dudley Do Right and Bluto's Bilge Ride, not to mention water parks.

I have seen them at our Walmart where the men's wallets and women's purses are. I also have my clear plastic pouch on a retractable caribener. I like the pouches with the zip top and I have ordered them on ebay. I clip the caribener to my purse. It is so handy. I haven't had any problem with the CM's checking my card because it's clear on both sides.

Hey, how about some of you support a store that isn't Wal-Mart once in awhile?

I got some great ones off of e-bay, and depending on which ones you're looking at they cost 4-5 bucks. Plus you get ones with Disney characters on it, so you can show off how big a Disney geek you are. They have a zip pouch with a clear window on the outside.

I got mine from my local office supply store. Only a few dollars for a very nice one, with zipper, clear pocket, and big pocket I can put my camera or phone in. I also have a totally plastic one we use at the water parks. Got it at REI, but also have seen them at Dick's and other sports stores. Most are called neck wallets, and besides the above, lots of other stores sell them, including Amazon, Target, etc.

Actually, mine aren't KTTW cards, since I'm staying off-site. They are more paper/cardboard like, so I definitely need to keep them dry. Plus, this is a great place to keep your Fast Passes, and those are paper.

I'll be checking this out too.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!

I have a question about the CM's viewing the tickets. Our trip in Nov will be our first trip back since they have started checking the tickets instead of issuing arm bands. Do the CM's have to see both sides of the tickets? Or can I use one that is clear on both sides and put two cards in it. I would love to do this so that I can have mine and 1 ds's while DH has his and the other ds's.

TIA

I think that's a little snippy and uncalled for...

anyway.....

I bought one of these for my son's school ID (yes, at WALMART... gasp) for 97 cents, also. He didn't use it so I am going to use it for our upcoming trip and I will probably get DH one for when we separate in the parks so he can hold onto the cards for the people in his group.

They do zip closed to keep the contents in, and the moisture out.

I think all they look at is the date and maybe the name. They want to make sure your key is good for the date you're using it. All that's on the other side is the magnetic strip. You could put them in the same pouch, and then if they needed to see them, you could take them out.

I was afraid my young kids would not be comfortable with someone reaching for the lanyard and looking at it. Maybe if they look at one of our adult keys then they would just see the kiddos have them. If not we might just carry theirs. :)
