Ticker wanted!

I know this is in the wrong place but I don't know where to post it...........Ok....so I'm dumb! I really want to add a "ticker". How do I do it? Help!! I WANT ONE!!

In the dark blue line at the top of the forum, the 6th link from the left is for "Tickers." There are several different types of countdowns, but the most common is for vacation countdowns. That link is: http://distickers.com/ticker/stepone/vacation.html

Follow the instructions to pick your background, pointer, and to set your date.

On the final screen, there will be a box with BB Code in it. You copy this code into your signature.

To edit your signature, click on "User CP" in that same blue line at the top of the page. Along the left side, you'll see an option to "Edit Signature." Paste in the BB Code and save it just like your creating a post.

Oh, I should have mentioned. The link I provided above is for creating a DISboards ticker. There are other sites that create tickers, as well. If you see one on someone's posts that you really like, click on it. Chances are it will take you to the web site where you can create that clicker.

The process of copying the BB Code into your signature is the same, regardless of which site you use for creating the ticker.

Do you still have the ticker code window open? I do that every single time and have had lots of tickers Check that you copied the right code. For some reason I seem to think that it is not the BB code I use as it doesn't work. I will see if my siggie page shows what it is. 2 tics

There are three boxes with code created when you make a ticker. The one you copied (HTML version) is for web site developers and for use in emails.

You want the text in the second box. The title of that box is PseudoHTML, UBBCode™ or BBCode

Did you use the html code? (I think it's the first one - there are about four to select from)

You just picked the wrong code option from the ones listed, try the second one down copy then paste into your signature and preview it.

It seems to be coming around quite quick now. We've been booked since last August. Can't wait to introduce my husband into theme parks! He hasn't been before and is not entirely sure he wants to!

Oooh first trip for him? Epcot would be a great first stop then if he is worried about 'theme parks' It is so non typical - all the Disney ones are as you will know - but Epcot in particular should shake any preconceived ideas he may have right out of him. Looks like you will be there for the food & wine festival too. He may really enjoy that. Drinking round the world showcase should win him over very quickly
