Tiaras, Tutus & Tie-Dye: A 5K Trip Trifecta - UPDATED: 8/2/11!

I think one of my messages as along has been to love the people you love all the more, hold them a little tighter, and make sure you know how special they are, because sadly, none of us knows how long we have.

How exciting to think of trying for another! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Did you know the 5Ks are actually called Family Fun 5Ks, and they typically have a stroller division? :thumbsup2

I get your ramble. I'm not really sure where life will be at that point, I just know, I'd like to go. :thumbsup2

Very true. That's part of the reason I'm not sure I would be able to pull off a trip. I really think it would mean a lot to my Mom if I let her pick wherever she wanted to go, and take her.

Yup! I looked up whether or not strollers were allowed and was very excited to see that it's a family 5K. I may also enter the baby in his own race, but we'll see what happens.

I definitely would like to go, but it's not looking hugely likely at this point.

Ok, I officially started "training" today. I've had a hard time finding the motivation to get back into running (life has not been kind to the Lego-Clan lately and I've been all kinds of distracted). Today I got up, got dressed, and ran.

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

It wasn't what it should have been, but wasn't awful either. It's a start (I'm laughing at the What About Bob references above, as I used that in my blog post today!!:rotfl:). And like TK said, I have no idea where life will be for me in Feb. 2013, but if I can do that race, I sure would like to.:goodvibes

.

Baby steps out the door.

Baby steps onto the road.

Baby steps to run down the...okay, I'll stop. :lmao:

Come Mr. Tally Man, tally me banana...daylight come and me wanna go home.

You know what other song in that movie I love? The one by Harry Belafonte at the end. We used that for our conga line at our wedding instead of the traditional whatnot.

Jump in the line...rock your body in time
Okay...I believe you
Jump in the line...rock your body in time
Rock your body, child!

I should make this part of my playlist while I'm running, I love that song.

Exciting indeed! I'm still of the notion that the TK Clan o' Pirates could use a Princess but I treasure my pretty little neck so I won't say anything more...

...just in case wishing makes it so! :rolleyes1

If wishing made it so. I'm fully resigned to the fact that if we had another childhood, most likely, it'd be another boy. I believe it is my destiny to be surrounded by pirates.

I heart Herc.

And only reallllly remotely related...I heart me some THOR.

Dear Chris Hemsworth,
Come visit me.
Bring your abs.
Love,
Tinkerbellarella

Hm.
I'm inspired.
Tomorrow I think I will:
Get up.
Get dressed.
Eat ice cream.

:rotfl:

You know what I think would be great? If you could get Chris Hemsworth and his abs to bring you that ice cream! :thumbsup2

I'm still happy to have you as part of this thread, regardless of whether or not you can actually make it. :goodvibes

So I have had an unfortunate delay in my training....

DSC01873.jpg

I have a fractured foot. :headache: I fell last night in a parking lot and spent 4 hours in the ER. I'm in the boot and crutches for at least six weeks. The good news, I shouldn't need surgery as long as it heals properly.

I'm just frustrated, I am not graceful on the crutches and I'm afraid not being active it going to completely derail my weight loss. Sigh.

Oh no!! :scared1: I'm so sorry! I'm not graceful without crutches, so I live in fear of doing something to myself that will require them. :lmao:
Praying that it heals quickly, without incident, and that you stay motivated to get healthy!! :cheer2: You may not be able to exercise very well with that boot on, but you can still eat right!!

Way to train TINK!!.....Woo hoo!
:lmao:
.

I mean I could totally walk AND eat the ice cream (low-fat, of course) at the same time. ;)

You know what I think would be great? If you could get Chris Hemsworth and his abs to bring you that ice cream! :thumbsup2

Let me explain to you how I read this the first time, causing me to snortlaugh my Venti Passion Tea Lemonade right up my nose (uncomfortable, by the way):

Then I reread it.

I'm exhausted. Been up since 2 a.m. for the 4th night in a row. I blame that. And the visual of Chris Hemsworth's abs. They're enough to put any woman in a tizzy:

And you're welcome.

Agreed! :thumbsup2

I'm starting a new day and trying to find the positive in anything because there's a lot of sadness pervading the rest of my life right now, so, with that in mind - since you can't be that active for the 6 weeks or so, you can really focus on your eating. Also, you could do some upper body work while you're sitting down and maybe concentrate on some toning in your upper half!

I really love you guys!! And yes, ice cream on those abs would be FABULOUS!! :cloud9: Did I just say that? Nope. Not me. Happily married here. :rolleyes1 Although, I have to say DH & I both have a crush, in totally different ways, on Ryan Reynolds!!

Speaking of finding the positive, LL, can I just say...

you have the most perfectly pedicured pink toenail going on in that photo! Look on the bright side...at least your toes are done!!!! :lmao:

Truthfully, I'm sorry that happened to you, and I hope it heals up really fast. :goodvibes

I have not read it all, but count me in for a DEFINITELY INTERESTED! :yay:

Now, I gotta read! :surfweb:

Okay, I'm pretty much caught up - I skimmed the chatter for the last few pages and read the official entries.

My training...my training....

Well...it's sporadic. I run about once a week or so? I mean to do it more often, but it just doesn't happen. When I do, I run/walk at about a 13-14 mile pace.

Next time I run, I am going to make myself do 3.1 miles, even if I have to walk a lot, and then try to improve from there.

Thinking of you ladies will encourage me to actually get out there! :thumbsup2

I am trying to read the TRs of everyone who joins this group, but good grief woman!! :scared1: All of yours are at least 100 pages long! Idk if I can do that, but I'll try to hit the highlights!! :rotfl:

Well I thought I would talk to my mom & sister about doing this 5k, too, so I e-mailed them. I got an answer back from my sister that went something like this: "So do we just go to some random place & run a 5K? Will it really take us until 2013 to train for that?" :confused3

So I go back & look at what I sent. I forgot the link to the Princess 1/2 site!! :lmao: So I sent back the link. Haven't heard back from her yet, but my mom is sounding interested. I may even try to talk them into going with us in January, then doing girls only next February! :cool1:

I am planning on doing the Princess 1/2 in 2013, but didn't know that there is a 5k the day before. I'm hoping to talk my sweet Aunt into doing the 5k with me in honor of my Mom!!! Let me know if it's okay for me to join or not. :)

Thanks

Just don't push yourself too hard, hon! :thumbsup2

Ha! :lmao: The link would be helpful, right? I hope they're interested, that sounds like it could be a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

You are MORE than welcome to join. Everyone is welcome here. We've been talking a little bit about what we think our trip plans will be, what we're doing to train. Feel free to share as much or as little as you want. :goodvibes

Also, I am sorry about your Mom and think it's wonderful you'd like to do something in her honor. I just lost my mother a little over a year ago very unexpectedly.

LL - I am so sorry about your foot! What a pain (in more ways than one)!

Brook - glad you are jumping in! I think you are doing great! You are the only person I "know" that has ever seen the inside of a gym at WDW :lmao:!

I am trying to read the TRs of everyone who joins this group, but good grief woman!! :scared1: All of yours are at least 100 pages long! Idk if I can do that, but I'll try to hit the highlights!! :rotfl:

 I know, this current one especially is a long one! I have links in the first post if that helps at all. Otherwise, I totally understand, don't worry about it! :goodvibes

Brook - glad you are jumping in! I think you are doing great! You are the only person I "know" that has ever seen the inside of a gym at WDW :lmao:!

:rotfl2: but only once! I'll try again this trip, but I doubt it!

Adding you to this list Miss Thang!

I often find that visualizing myself walking/running towards a giant pretzel is helpful! LOL

Brook's TR's are awesome. ::yes::

Yeah, I can understand the initial confusion.

Of COURSE it's ok for you to join! We'd LOVE you to join, in fact. I'll add you to the definitely interested list.

(Sorry for the delay in the response - been kind of a crazy few days.)

Brook - glad you are jumping in! I think you are doing great! You are the only person I "know" that has ever seen the inside of a gym at WDW :lmao:!

BF used the AK gym on our recent trip and loved it.
My only interest in the gym was their massage menu. ;)

Disney Massages = A slice of heaven!

Oooh, there's a great idea for a post-5k pick-me-up!
A Disney Massage will be additional incentive for my training. Especially since I can't help picturing Mr. Hemsworth as the masseur. For a purely medicinal massage, people, purely medicinal!
