We will be on the Wonder for the EBPC this year in 5 days!
Since this is a 14 night cruise we will have multiple dinners in Tiana's Place.
This will be our first time visiting Tiana's Place after the Wonder was re-imaged.
My Question is - Does Tiana's have different dinner shows or do they just have 1 type of dinner show?
Thank You in advance.

Tiana's Place is intended to be a New Orleans Jazz Club. One of the nights will be Mardis Gras but I would suspect all nights will have a jazz club feel, with the live band and Tiana greeting guests. I don't know if there would be a need for another type of show. They just need to play some jazz.

Disney Wonder arrives in San Diego bay!!!!!!

We are on this cruise also! So excited, can't wait. This is our 7th Panama cruise on the Wonder, second since the reimagining. I believe we had two 'shows'. One was Mardi Gras and one was more character intensive with Louis and Tiana. Every night there was special. I love the decor, ambiance and especially the china.Oh yeah, the food was delicious too. See ya' real soon.

We were on the WBPC cruise this year and went to Tiana's multiple times, it was actually very different each night, there was the live band most of the time but they did different things including the "Mardi Gras" night one of the nights. Also I believed they didn't do anything special for Pirate's Night, because they wanted to get everyone served so everyone could go to the show on deck.

I should add that it was so loud in there, you couldn’t carry on any kind of conversation. The show night, while fun, might be too much for some people.

Yes ... but ... this can be a great help when seated with a difficult table. The 'show' gives a break from attempting to maintain conversation with strangers?
Also a break from the one cruiser who has to dominate the conversation!!

I am one of the people that loves Tiana's. Yes it can get loud. In January 2017 there were breaks in the playing of music. in August of 2017 there were more breaks - so it was easier to carry on a conversation.

On both cruises we were in Tiana's the first night - which does make it more difficult to get to know your tablemates and servers. In August, they did give us more time in the beginning before they started playing music. But our severing team was kinda not there, so our table got to visit.

I loved Tiana's! We were seated right in front of the stage, three or four tables back and it was a little loud but we could still talk over it even there. Our server Norbi did mention that he finds he loses his voice after those nights for a bit though. They were both great fun and we all enjoyed the menus.

I wonder if you could request to be as far away from the stage as possible. I really don’t like supper clubs, but I really don’t like the Lumiere’s MDR menu even more, so I requested that to be night one so I can do Palo that night. But I am not going to be happy if I’m right on the edge of the stage or next to an aisle where they are going to make me get up. That is not my idea of a fun or relaxing dinner.

You could definitely ask! Even that night as you go in since someone might have passed on dinner that night. Even right at the aisle we were in no way pressured to stand up since we were all adults. It was just for the kiddos and a couple parents. We did all get mardi gras beads put on us though... not that we put up a fight. :)

Thanks! I am in my final stages of deciding between keeping the Wonder and changing to the 5-night Magic the same week - decision to be made on Friday. Once that is made, if it is the Wonder, I may call and have them put “as far from the stage as possible in Tiana’s” on my reservation. I wouldn’t want to have to change servers for just one night - especially being gluten-free.

Or maybe I’ll just deal with it - bring my nook with me and hope for the best.

Count me as someone who didn't like it. Wish you could request to skip it. We did a 7-night cruise and the show there was mostly the same each time. Different music, but the same general theme. The music is loud and I don't think you can get away from it since the speakers are spread around the room. It has to be loud to overcome the general noise of the restaurant and really becomes tiresome, IMO. I couldn't carry on a conversation with those next to me, much less people on the other side of the table. For us, dinner is a good time to catch up with what happened during the day and talk about the next day. With kids clubs and all of the events, dinner conversation is relatively important. In Tianas, you are getting sporadic communication. I'm sure a lot of people like it, but I would pass on it if I could. With that said, I did like the menu.

We like it also. Good food and good music.

On our cruise, the concierge sent the dining rotation, the first night in TP shows nothing, and the 2nd night show (MG) I assume Mardi Gras. Any information on the difference between those nights?

We just got off the wonder on Sunday and had 3 nights in Tiana’s. Our table was in the back, nearer the windows, far from the stage and it was wonderful....not too loud back there. I found a lot of OTHER entertainment on the ship much louder (wayyyyy too loud).
