Exactly! You can expect that getting soaked is a definite possibility on a "raging river" ride that is about...a raging river. You don't really expect it on a ride that is (was?) more about story-telling with some thrills included. When my daughter was 4, she LOVED sitting in the front of the log (and yes, they let 4-year-olds ride in the front seat back then--20 years ago!-- as long as they were tall enough!). The big drop was such a thrill for her and getting wet to a degree was part of the fun, but she would NOT have loved being soaked to the skin. I'm glad we got to ride it so many times before they turned it into Tiana's Runaway Bathtub.Yeah, but at least GRR was always that kind of ride - very wet. Splash wasn't typically an absolute soaking. People want to ride Tiana's to enjoy the music and animatronics. The drop is fun and a little splash is expected, but nobody wants pooling water in the boat.
I'm still holding out hope that Disney gets a lot of negative feedback on that and adjusts things. If not, I'm glad I got to go on it when you could expect a reasonable degree of getting wet.
