Tiana's Bayou Adventure Opening Day

Yeah, but at least GRR was always that kind of ride - very wet. Splash wasn't typically an absolute soaking. People want to ride Tiana's to enjoy the music and animatronics. The drop is fun and a little splash is expected, but nobody wants pooling water in the boat.
Exactly! You can expect that getting soaked is a definite possibility on a "raging river" ride that is about...a raging river. You don't really expect it on a ride that is (was?) more about story-telling with some thrills included. When my daughter was 4, she LOVED sitting in the front of the log (and yes, they let 4-year-olds ride in the front seat back then--20 years ago!-- as long as they were tall enough!). The big drop was such a thrill for her and getting wet to a degree was part of the fun, but she would NOT have loved being soaked to the skin. I'm glad we got to ride it so many times before they turned it into Tiana's Runaway Bathtub.

I'm still holding out hope that Disney gets a lot of negative feedback on that and adjusts things. If not, I'm glad I got to go on it when you could expect a reasonable degree of getting wet.

After all this discussion, I'm gonna pass until next summer. I don't like being damp and cold in the humidity there, especially in December. It's a cute story but i'm not gonna get FOMO over it...maybe by summer, they will have moderated water levels somewhat.

I am debating bringing my "swim shoes' and changing into those before riding. Especially considering it will be mid-December when I am there, I do NOT want wet shoes for the rest of the day.
Since the last refurb, we won’t ride Splash (now Tiana’s) without a change of shoes.

There always seems to be a couple of inches of water in the bottom of the log now, and it’s too hard to keep your feet dry in a tidal wave (it’s that dip in the dark that always seems to be the worst. Clothes are one thing, but soaked shoes + lots of walking is a bad combo.

Well I do like knowing this

Insane you need to bring extra clothes on once again a ride that has been opened for over 30 years and after removing the name Splash from it now you get wet, lol

I went on Splash right before it closed like 6 times in a row and was barley wet after and pretty sure it was in a warm month so no idea whats going on with this ride

I was really hoping they would be it less "splashy" when it turn into Tiana's. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone the other way. Dang Madame Ode and her potions.

All WDI has to do is load a log with 5 (or 6 if last seat used) average size adults and see exactly how flooded it gets.
It's not fun type splash when you're sitting in a bathtub of water. 😂 🌊

What if Facilier's revenge from the other side for not being included in the ride was to curse the ride by having it dump a boatload of water on everyone who comes through???

I was going to try and get a MK preview date to ride before opening day but maybe not after reading all these comments.

I know our comments can make it sound horrible, thankfully still worth a preview ride if nice weather outside.

Try to lift your feet up a bit during each drop and be ready for water to come over the right or left side. I held onto seat back in front of me and helped my arms not get as soaked near edge of log.

I'm hoping that they keep allowing Mansion and Tiana's VQ to be held at the same time like they are with the previews. The HM VQ is different than the regular VQ in that it is only a VQ because there is no physical standby queue.
I doubt that will be the case. During AP previews for TBA in MK, AP holders could hold TBA at the same time as tron or guardians. That was no longer applicable after it officially opened.

But those are both NEW attractions. Unlike HMH/HM which is not a new attraction. It is only on VQ because there isn't a physical queue to wait in.

Question though. I get a VQ for Tiana's right at 7am and the return time is 11am and I use it at 11. I assume I am then eligible to join the VQ for mansion during the noon drop, correct?

I'm predicting this will suck

Like I hope I'm wrong but this feels just like BS to stop people from having fun. If you want to wait then wait....we used to let people wait 3+ hours for Indy

Now for a water ride in winter your like...yeah we rather you enter a lottery and if you can't go on...sucks for you

HMH works it takes hours for it go out but if this is out in seconds then its to me such a slap in the face of guests...200 bucks a ticket and you can't get on the newest ride because of some luck? I hate it

I agree it's sad and odd way to start the day.

Reminds me of when Rise opened and the huge amount of guests that would leave the park at 8:01am after being unable to obtain Virtual Queue they would even have to open more exit gates. Guest would go to DCA or back to hotel and rest before returning to try again if park hoppers.

Haunted Mansion is nearly as bad if you wait a few minutes the return window with be at least a few hours, compared to 10 minutes or less early AM wait times. I know the queue is under construction but my point is that line was never hours long within seconds of opening.
