Tiana

Did either of you go to the ride and tap in? Our experience last week was they were allowing guests to ride after their BG expired. We were 30 mins late one time and tap still turned green. Someone in front of us turned blue meaning he was even later returning than us and the CM didn’t say a word and overrode it turning the tap green.

I would recommend trying to tap in, even when late, especially on a day when the attraction is having problems. CMs are very accommodating!
I guess I'm not sure. DH and DD14 ran ahead and then when DS6 and I got to the top of the stairs leading down to the entrance to the ride they came up the stairs saying it was too late. I assume they tried to tap in but I guess I don't know. We were only a few minutes late.

For others in your situation, I would recommend trying to tap in. It can’t hurt as many are reporting CMs allowing guests to ride even when late for their VQ return time and this is currently happening for all VQ attractions.

Data Point: Sat, Aug 24th our group of 5 had a VQ of 160. We attempted to tap in early when they were calling group 153. The CM asked what our BG number was and said we would need to wait to be called before tapping in. We watched the fireworks from under the Tron canopy and our BG was called shortly after that, at 9:20.

We were absolutely thrilled once we entered the building that the ride was a complete walk-on!! We watched empty vehicles, or ones with only one or two people on them, leave. Our vehicle was about half full. Wish we would have been allowed to ride early as we were waiting for just this ride, but it was still worth waiting for!!

you should be able to ride on an expired VQ for anything except maybe tron at night and certainly should be able to ride on a VQ that juuust expired. last week at epcot evening hours we rode on a VQ that was expired for like 12-13 hours.

i might not rely on this if i absolutely had to ride something, but i would certainly always try to tap in. i have been late to my VQs more often than not and have never been turned away (but again, never for tron).

Guardians has always allowed an expired VQ to be used from the time it is called until park close.

Tiana and Tron have turned guests away in the past once their VQ expired. We know they currently have some wiggle room to use an expired VQ but unfortunately we don’t know the exact flexibility offered and it may change from day to day.
