Going on a Fantasy Cruise, October of 2014. It will be my dd's Sweet 16. This has been her wish for a few years now... To cruise on the Fantasy for her sweet 16. Jenn has autism, so I know it seems odd, but she wants to be in Tiana's dress for her sweet 16. Does anybody know where I can get one for her? She is really an adult size, so going to the Disney stores are not helping.:confused3 I'd love to see her big bright smile for her birthday!:)

Are you looking for a "costume" sort of dress. Or a dress that is suggestive of Tiana's?

Hmmmm, good question... I think a dress that is suggestive of Tiana's... We hae had the costume type when she was younger, and she couldn't wait to get it off as it was too itchy....

Maybe try your local stores looking for prom dresses. You have a good bit of time to visit many places.

Maybe e-bay? Or ask at a local tailoring shop, if they know of anyone who could make something up for you. Ask at a bridal shop.

You might keep your eye out at Halloween Time. You can sometimes find higher end adult costumes at that time. Although my guess would be that it would be awfully pricey.

Only other sugesstion I could throw out would be if you or someone you know can sew you could try seeing if you could find a pattern for the dress. Or at least one you could work off of.

It looks like Amazon has an adult size Princess Tiana costume for about $42.

Not the best reviews -- mixed with either "love it" or "hate it" comments, but worth checking out.

There is someone on ebay making Tiana style "tutu" dresses for about $100 and you can get a "ball gown" custom made on Esty for as much as $600.

What a wonderful Sweet 16 trip! Have fun searching for your daughter's dress and accessories. princess:

Not sure what your budget is but I quickly found a couple things. One was a gorgeous custom order on Etsy so you'd have to inquire with the shop owner. The other is just Amazon.

Good luck and I hope your DD has a terrific sweet 16!! :)

Try Etsy. I have had such good luck with custom items for my daughter since she is quickly outgrowing little girl's sizes. Good luck and I hope you find something that will work!

We have been buying dresses from Mommaloha on (Etsy and Facebook) For 3 years now. I am just in LOVE with her stuff! Since the dresses are cotton I have tossed Mickey bar covered dresses into the washer onboard to have them come out perfectly clean!! My 16 yr old DD really wanted to dress up last cruise so I had these made for her and her sister. They are custom made per each girls measurements. I don't think I have paid more than $75 a dress. We have bought Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Tiana, and seems like one more..lol.
Tell her I sent you :thumbsup2

those dresses look nice. don't look scratchy. we have issue with the costume style being scratchy. dgd8 has sensory issues and last trip we did bbb, when she put on the dress, immediately had meltdown with being scratchy but she wouldn't let us take it off, so we cause quite a scene in the lobby while her mother ran all over to shops trying to find a long sleeve shirt to where under it. we will be prepared this trip. hope your daughter has a wonderful sweet 16.

Not sure about her size, but you might be able to find an adult or child size Tiana costume at that time of the year in stores like WalMart or Target. Or check the Disney Store. I noticed the other week, they had posted a bunch of new princess costumes. princess::eeyore:

Wow! Thankyou ladies for all your advice! I will definitely be looking into some of those etsy shops...
IBcrazie4dizney, sensory issues abound here...I totally understand! Alaskaabbott, I will definitely give your name! As you can tell, I have a horrible time quoting... but thankyou to all of you.. keep the ideas coming!:goodvibes

Not scratchy at all! All cotton, Tiana is really soft. DD8 has some sensory perception problems too:goodvibes we changed pirate clothes twice during dinner last January!

I spoke to Mommaloha last night, she seems very warm and understanding... She suggested we wait until next year to do DDs dress.... NOW, can I wait a year? Just hoping I don't lose her name... So thankyou very very much... All this planning is soooo time consuming! lol

You should be able to favorite the shop on Etsy, so you don't lose it!

If you do a search for Tiana cosplay you will get a lot of links where you can get custom made dresses that match the movie pretty well. Of course with it being custom it might cost a little more. The ones that came up for me were between $100 and $400.

I usually order about 3 months before our trip. My girls are not going to grow much in 3 months. I think you will love it :)
