After trying to get through most of the morning we finally got through and made a resie for 3 nights out of 5 we were looking for and waitlisted 2 nights.
I am sure others would love to be in a position to reserve today so I am not complaining. Just concerned about what the cast member said at the end of our call. She said if we are traveling in by plane using Magical Express, we get dropped off at the SS lobby and have to walk to the THV's. There will be no trasportation provided by Disney. When I asked how far she thought it may be a bit further than Downtown Disney. I have walked that and it is a good walk. So my concern is arriving late, (as she said may be some critters), with young ones or someone older who may not be able to walk that far as well as with luggage.

I am also concerend about how far the main pool at SS will be from the THV's.

Can anyone shed some light on my concerns.

Thanks

Back when there were the Fairway villas, you could rent golf carts. Of course DTD was Disney Village back then, too.

Maybe they'll have golf carts to rent like FW does now?

Since there currently are buses going round and round... assume THV will be part of the loop and bell services will deliver your stuff.

Now, it's a trek. I have done the jogging/walking trail between SSR and OKW and those villas are going to be out there.

(Those posters who thought that the current arrangement has villas that are "TOO FAR TO WALK" should NOT book THV LOL!)

I know you technically won't have all your luggage since it is delivered to your room, but couldn't you still enlist someone from bell services to deliver your family by golf cart to THVs with gratuity of course? Especially if it's late at night, I imagine they wouldn't be too busy or do they frown on that? :confused3

I second the bell services answer. I have gotten a ride from them to my room at Saratoga Springs for both of my stays.

The resort isn't even open yet, and certainly none of us has EVER gotten incorrect info from a CM.;) There is the Bell Services option, and don't forget taxis if Bell Services doesn't work out.

I'm sure there will be a more convenient way to get to the TH other than walking late at night.

Disney doesn't miss a beat when taking care of their guests. I'm sure by the time it opens, there will be some kind of transportation. They probably were instructed to tell us all that until it gets ironed out. They've put a lot of money into these villas and they will want us to fill them.

We promise to do our part!;)

Great points, DVC has always been first class in my opinion so why should I doubt them now.

Thanks for the responses.

I think Disney will take care of transport. In Dec. the front desk asked if I wanted a ride over to Congress Park with my kids. I declined since it is not a far walk for us, but they did offer.

We've gotten a lift whenever we've needed it. I'm sure you will be able to get a CM to drive you in one of the long"limo" golfcarts to your THV. :goodvibes

I inquired about how many Bus stops at THV and there are 2 Bus Stops and I believe 1 boat dock ( im sure its SSR boat dock behind the turf club).

I'm sure there will be others coming back late from the Parks....
We would need to find our way Home.
I would think... it will be well lit at night.:)
I hope...
Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh no...

Just got Back From Dinsey
I want to stay at THV but thye are far from SSR and would be a long walk.
Some of our group stayed at SSR and asked... They were told at this point they do not know how they are going to get the buses in and out!
I am sure this will be cleared up by the time they open.
I can say if they do not rent golf carts there will be a lot of walking...
Worth it for me but we take our parnets every year so me staying there is out of the question until I understand how to get around without a car.
For now I would be plan on renting a car if you are not driving to avoid any problems until the repots from people who stay start showing up.

we usually rent a car anyway....so we will def be renting when we stay in treehouse villas. I LOVE the idea of pulling right up to our villa after a long day and carrying the kids to bed.:thumbsup2
