We just walked in the door from tonight's presentation.

We registered and were escorted into the ballroom after receiving popcorn/water AND a nice DVC portfolio with notepad and info. It started right on time with the Dapper Dans of Disneyland singing a set. Very enjoyable but my DH loved the next guest, DeeVee Cee. She just cracked him up so much.
She introduced Joan and Dave, DVC guides.

Joan and Dave gave a little spiel on Disney Firsts.
- Preview of the new HD Snow White
1st drawing - lithograph of the original poster
after the preview, Snow White and Dopey came out for a bit.
- DisneyFiles editor Ryan introduces Steven Clark who promotes D23
we all receive a free copy of the first issue when we leave :cool1:
2nd drawing - free D23 membership
- WDW DVC - BLT video tour by DeeVee Cee (again DH laughing)
3rd drawing - square Mickey lithograph that's in BLT rooms
- VCG GV - 2400 sq ft will rent for $3500/night
- Introduced Ko Olina with a hula dancer and DeeVee Cee joins her (more laughing from DH)
4th drawing - Mickey/Minnie on the beach lithograph
- Previewed Disneynature film EARTH coming out on April 22
- Adventures by Disney
-Concierge Collection
5th drawing - 3 "firsts" pictures in one frame

AND THEN the incentives, now it went fast and I was writing as much as I could. These incentives are only good at the resort during event which ends Sunday. AND are clearly targeted toward west coast buyers.

100 point add - on = $5/pt credit $500 to down payment (and they said this incentive will soon end) plus a 3 night stay at the GCH with FP tickets that are for any time.

160 point add on = $7/pt credit $1120 to down payment plus the 3 night stay, FP, $100 gift card plus 7 night RCI resort stay

200 point add on = $7/pt credit $1400 to down payment plus the 3 night stay, FP, 7 night RCI stay, 2 AP DLR plus 2 night stay at the Hotel Del in San Diego or the Fairmont Hotel in SF

250 point add on -= $9/2250 credit and I'm sorry I missed the rest I was writing but I'm pretty sure it included whatever is at the 200 pt level.

320 point add on = $9/2880 credit choose from a limited selection of Adventures by Disney trips for 2, OR the 3 nite GCH, 2 nite SD/SF stay/ RCI
AND the big one...one night in the Mickey Mouse penthouse OR the Pirate Suite in the DLH.

500 point add on = $9/$4500 credit trip for 2 from either Adventures by Disney OR 7 nights at the Grand Wailea on Maui plus the RCI, AP and the MM/PS 1 night stay.

The higher point level incentives went fast. AND just as I was writing, the curtain opened on the right to a VCGH "celebration" with desserts and music.
Pictures with Mickey, Minnie and Snow White/Dopey. And the chance to meet with your guide to add on points :yay: We will not be adding on at this time. But maybe later.

To all that are going, have a good time. Take your camera, I forgot mine. Sit on the right side near the curtain with the DVC logo shining on it. The curtain will open at the end for the D23 magazine, desserts, drinks and music.

Hummm, the 1pm one did not have the Snow White Preview, nothing from Ryan or anything on D23, No Snow White litho giveaway, no D23 membership giveaway, no free copy of the D23 Magazine...

Looks like I went to the wrong one! I already thought it was disappointing and now to hear that there was even more at the other events makes me a little mad! They should have the same things at each event!

I would think the CEO's would have learned their lesson about the internet, and fast word of mouth from the Light Magic Parade debacle. Of course everyone is going compare notes online. Blue Sky Disney website mentioned the same thing about comparing hotels and attractions, just by watching You Tube.

I don't know if this made a difference, but wasn't the 7pm Thurs presentation for founding members?

Were there a limited number of these incentives?

I think the OP meant that they were talking fast.

Thank you so much, kikiq, for that thorough report. I think it's not worth it to me to try to buy through my DBIL for these incentives, as I'd rather have the DP's. But now I can let him decide whether it's worth it for him to go for the drawings and the freebies. (Portfolio/notepad & D23 magazine were it for givaways? No pins? :sad1:)

The info was really helpful! Thanks!:flower3:

You know, now that I look back on the report, I think I was just negative because I'm looking at a 100 point add-on. The incentives for 200 are pretty good, so those people looking for that much might find it worthwhile. Since I just went through this for BLT, I really can't justify that many! :)

Was it Dave Kreutzer??

kikiq,
My goodness, there are some good incentives! Did they say what the particulars are for the 1 week RCI? (Would it be good for high season ? Is is a 2BR unit? And, would it expire in 3 Oct like the old DP incentive?)

How long did the presentation last?

This may not apply as much for a Thursday night presentation as for one on Friday, but did the kids have to go to the kid's club, so to speak, or could they join their parents for the presentation? Thanks for the report.

It might have been. We are Founding members and we only had the 7 pm presentation offered to us, although the guides mentioned that 2 of the MM stays had already been taken from the TWO EARLIER presentations. My DH looked at me and asked what 2 earlier presentations. The room was 2/3 full and I would say mostly DVC members.

Did the earlier groups get the nice DVC portfolio, not leather, vinyl with Mickey with his suitcase and "ears" logo and Disney Vacation Club printed on the bottom. Had a nice notepad and the info tucked into the inside pocket. AND we received the D23 magazine.

Oh my, I just read all the other questions and I'm one foot out the door to work. I'll post more later, unless there was another DIS member in this presentation who can answer. The classroom awaits ;)

I noticed that they asked if you wanted your children to go to the kid's club. But there were kids at the presentation and they certainly enjoyed themselves afterwards. Don't know if there will be refreshments or entertainment today.

Were there a limited number of these incentives?

Actually there are limited number of nights in MM/Pirate Suite nights available.

And to answer the other questions:

Don't know if it's Dave K.

The presentation lasted around 1 hour.

All they said about the RCI incentive was that it was a week for a 1 or 2 bdrm, no particulars.

The incentives were clearly for west coast folks since we had 3 nights at the GCH and 3 nites in SD or SF.

Hi, kikiq! :)

Were the portfolio and the magazine the only "freebies" given out?

Also, no drawings for points or hotel stays?

Thanks very much for your information (especially where to sit!)! :goodvibes:):goodvibes

The portfolio and D23 magazine were the only freebies. My DH was waiting for the pins :lmao: AND he was also waiting for the points and hotel stays.
but nada.

Someone needs to report how the general DVC members and public presentations go...wonder if they will pass out portfolios and magazines?

I wasn't there, but...
I'm sure the incentive is the same voucher we received at the Doorway to Dreams Event in Chicagoland when we bought BLT points in February.

They said it was for a two-bedroom villa at the event and I was quite excited about it. In reality when you receive your certificate, you are given a web address to see what's available. You have to enter your certificate numbers and then you can see that the exchanges are EXTREMELY limited. IMO, it's like having the worst week ever to trade. To be fair, I only searched winter months, but there were no trades available anywhere warm except Mexico. And then, it was only for "All-Inclusive" resorts, so there were very expensive additional fees for those resorts.

Other places that were available were often studios. Sometimes you were given additional options if your willing to pay extra to "upgrade." Overall, very disappointing.

I'm glad I only thought of this as an extra and was happy with the other incentives we received.

kikiq,
( I would have loved any one of the incentives even if they were targeted for west coast folks. ;) )

Thanks for your reports. I purchased some points during the founding member time frame and I was very curious to see what kind of deal they were giving on this program. :)
