Thunder Mountain rehab?

Well if those dates are true then we'll miss it too! I finally got DH to ride it last trip and he loved it. He keeps talking about going back on it in October. Oh well, another reason to go again next spring!:D

They've already added the foot guard, after going 2 times a month for forever, I actually tripped getting in because I didn't see it. They've also changed the wonderful speil we love so much. It's the same idea, but not the same words and then it's repeated in Spanish.

They added one last year a few days before the last week of August. They did this in 2001 also- they added one on the 31st a few days before we left. For some reason wdwig.com and DIS do not have these ones listed-maybe because they were last minute ones.

You are right, they did add one for Friday the 30th last year, but they also cancelled it a few days after it was added(ended up pouring that night anyway). However they were open until 8:30 with FITS that Friday...which is later than scheduled for this year, with no FITS. I had been counting on at least the same hours as last year. :(

I FINALLY decided to try it this year - I am traditionally a ride wimp, but decided to give it a go. I seem to be braver now, even started driving this year (I will be 40 - late bloomer!). I also told DS (who will be 4) that if he is tall enough, we would go on together!

We are going 10/4-11 - I hope the rehab is done by then!!!

I posted a question regarding this on the Disney Rumors and News forum, and haven't had an answer yet... here's hoping it isn't true.

So far, wdwig.com and the DIS doesnt' have any "official" info either.

I was talking with a Ride Operator at Splash Mountain about 2 weeks ago for around 30 minutes while we were letting my kids go thru a few times (she kept giving them passes- I don't know why!). She said it there was going to be an 8 week rehab for BTMR in Sept. I don't know if Sept. was going to be the start or the finish of the rehab. It is for sure scheduled for rehab, though.

Hope that it is up and running by October. It is one of our favourite rides in MK.

I just worked my trip around the last Eride night in August (8/22). It is our first eride night after doing this trip once a year since 1996! With the popularity of the FTP here' s hoping that the rehab won't be too long for all! BTMRR is one of the few coasters I will go on and enjoy!

September would make sense for the "summer crowd". I wouldn't think they would pull it out of commission right before Labor Day, that doesn't make any sense?

I know August does become "slower" about mid-August. But with the popularity of the FTP, I am under the impression that many of us Northerners are getting a few last flings in before our kids start in school right around Labor Day.

Now if it is scheduled for 8 weeks, eight weeks from now would be September (consider it is July in a few days!)
