Thumper got herself a boo-boo!!

I swear, this rabbit's guardian bunny is going to start charging! Thumper likes to hang out behind the love seat when she is on her 'floor time'. I made sure all the thin cords were up and off the floor since I had heard that rabbits like to chew wires. I THOUGHT I had everything "bunny-proofed". Guess again! I noticed that her brown nose now had a black spot on it, about the size of the top of an eraser. I picked her up and looked. It looked like a small burn! I pull out the love seat and notice the large surge protecter extension (you know, the big fat white cords). The same little burn mark on her nose was on the cord!! Closer inspection showed chew marks on the cord...clear into the wires!! She doesn't seem to be in any discomfort and hasn't avoided the love seat any. I had DH replace the surge protector and it is safely mounted to the wall, about 2 feet above the floor, behind the love seat. Now unless she figures out how to climb the wall, we should be good to go! I swear, I'm changing her name from Thumper to Brer Rabbit!!

I used to have bunnies--your story about Thumper made me miss my bunnies. None of them were caged, and always had free run of the house and used litter boxes. We had a couple of power cord incidents. Never seemed to hurt them.

Give him a good ear rub for me--hope he feels better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
