We had our first experience with a grocery delivery from Garden Grocer last week at BWV.

We were very pleased! We arrived and checked our luggage then headed out to lunch and to DTD to purchase our park passes. We received a cell phone call that Garden Grocer had delivered to bell services for us. When we got back at the BWV our room was ready at 3:30 pm. They brought up our luggage along with our complete Garden Grocer order.

It was very easy and I highly recommend this service to anyone thinking of trying out the grocery deliveries. I know we will use them again!

Just curious, what did you order, was it decent products? Im going to use it for the first time and mostly order cold food(milk, cheese, meat). I will bring my own cereal, crackers and snack foods.

We've used them twice for drinks, fruit, milk, cereal, bagels, snacks etc. Great service both times.

Is it cheaper and better than Disney's service?

Dennis-

This is good to hear. We have used them and were very happy with them and then I kept reading hit/miss posts about them. Hopefully they ironed out their concerns.

We used them last year when we stayed at BCV's and they were great. They were very friendly and double checked everything on my list as they unpacked my order. We'll be using them again in September.

I've used GG before too and indeed it is way better than DVC's grocery list!! I dont understand why DVC doesnt offer more food of substance!! Oh well, more business for someone else, right?

Haven't unpacked yet so my list is still buried in the suitcase, lol. But here are some of the items we selected:

Gallon of 1% milk; 6 pak of Tropicana orange juices with straws; 12 pak of Coke Zero; case of 24 water bottles; 6 20 oz bottles Caffeine Free Diet Coke; loaf of white bread; pak of English Muffins; dozen of donuts; 36 bakery cookies; Beef Bologna; 1/2 lb deli ham; 1 lb Kraft American Cheese; 6 Croissant breakfast sandwhiches; Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit sandwhiches; whipped butter; dozen large eggs; package of maple sausages.

That's good to hear. We are thinking of placing a small order for next month with breakfast/snack items and drinks. We want to get some laundry detergent and booze to keep in the Owners Locker too.

Do you find it to be more convenience or more savings over buying things at WDW?

Glad to hear it went well :goodvibes We decided to go ahead and order from Garden Groder (www.gardengrocer.com in case no one answers while I'm typing this) for our trip in August.
OK, I decided to go ahead and order....DH thought that me going to the store for a few hours would be fine with him :lmao:

I have not tried the Disney grocery order service, however, they are quite limited to the items that you basically see in the resort stores such as the Screen Door at the BWV. I wanted more variety. As it turned out, the Screen Door had no freezer the week we were there as it broke down and they were waiting for parts to be ordered. Therefore, selections were extremely limited.

The convenience was excellent. I am sure I could have saved a few dollars had I made the grocery store run myself, but after all this is vacation and I felt it was time that I did a little something for myself to save me some time and aggravation on check in day.

I will do it again for sure!

Carol,

Does it matter which 2 hr time window you select? We want the groceries delivered on the first day in our 1 bedroom, which is on day 2 of the trip. We will probably be at the resorts pool most of the day waiting for room to be ready. I don't want to have to be carrying my cell phone in the pool waiting for their call. :rotfl:

We had great service and products from GG last year. A weeks worth of groceries for the same price we pay at home.

We chose 3 to 5 pm I believe and received a voice mail on our cell while we were out purchasing our AP's at DTD. Since our room was not ready they delivered to Bell Services who stored them until we returned and were able to access our room. We called down and they delivered them at the same time as our luggage. It was nice having everything show up at once. So if you don't happen to catch the cell call they should deliver to Bell Services anyway for you.
